I'm in Crested Butte right now, and in answer to your question -- yes! It's awesome. I'm not even in that great of shape, and it's fun. You'll be used to the altitude change in about a day. At least it seems like I am. Granted, the climbing is still tough, but you just have to pick trails within your limits. I know I'm not that good, so I'm not trying some of the really hard stuff (401, Reno/Flag/Bear), I'm sticking with things I can do like Lower Loop, Snodgrass, etc. Here's the best link I've found so far for finding out trail info...very recently updated and excellent play-by-play of each trail: [ link ] Also, there is no such thing as a rock garden out here -- it's ALL rock garden!! Wink And one final thought: I wish we had marmots in MN. They are so fat and cute and lazy!
