Open Streets East Lake + Minnehaha:
Sunday, July 22nd
More kids, more bikes, more kids on bikes! We’re still looking for a few volunteers for this Open Streets event- please join us for an hour or two and see what this Minneapolis Bike Parks initiative is all about.

Saturday, August 4th
Find us out at the 13th Annual Tour de Tonka event. MORC and Minnetonka MTB Trail Advocates will have freshly designed tshirts, and hats available- stop on by and learn about the initative to bring trails to Minnetonka! 

TrailsFest
Sunday, August 19th
Join us at TrailsFest 2018! A celebration of Twin Cities’ singletrack hosted by Utepils Brewing, Sunday August 19th from 12-5pm. This family friendly event will feature bikes, delicious beer, Potter’s Pasties, and more from MORC friends and Partners. Utepils will also be donating $1/beer sold back to MORC!
 

 

Dig ’em All Challenge:

Our friends at Utepils Brewing will be joining us for trailwork at Theo on Wednesday, August 08th. Visit the site (linked above) to RSVP and earn points towards prizes!

Tonka Trails Update:

Minnetonka Park Board unanimously approved the recommendation to pursue the establishment of singletrack at Lone Lake Park! The plan will now be presented to City Council on July 09th- please attend if you’re able:

MORC in May

Dig em All Challenge!

Throughout the 2018 Dirt Season, MORC challenges our community to get out and DIG with us!

Last year we introduced the ‘Ride em All’ Challenge, encouraging our community to get out and ride all 13 MORC destinations. This year we’ll award points for attending regularly scheduled, weekly trailwork days and offer 3 tiers of prize packages for participants.

  • Register for a weekly trailwork session at any of the trails
  • Go dig, have fun, meet the volunteers responsible for providing such awesome trails
  • Log your Hours in order to accumulate points- 1 point per session, up to 2 points per trail, a total of 24 points possible
The upcoming REI National Trails Day (Saturday, June 2nd at Betram) will also be a points qualifying work session! Register with REI online, then log your hours via the Dig em All Challenge webpage.

Thank You for making our Spring Member kickoff a smashing success! Membership contributions account for up to 30% of our annual operating budget. Suffice to say that we simply could not accomplish our goals without the support of our community- thank you for being a part of it!

Minnetonka Open House
Advocacy efforts continue thanks to the Minnetonka MTB Trail Advocates! The City has identified Lone Lake Park as a potential site to host sustainable, family-friendly, multi-use singletrack trails. However, a small but vocal opposition group continues to express concern. In effort to help mitigate these concerns, and provide education on what exactly singletrack is, MORC will be present at the upcoming Minnetonka Open House. We encourage you join us, especially if you’re a Minnetonka resident!

4 New Miles coming to Bertram!
Thanks to our partnership with Wright County, and the award of a Federal Recreational Trails Program (RTP) grant, Bertram Chain of Lakes in Monticello will undergo some exciting development and expansion in 2018. The North section of the park will see a total trail rebuild, multiple bridges, boardwalks, and various technical features will also be constructed throughout the park. All told, 4 new miles of singletrack will be established! Bertram remains one of MORC’s best kept secrets- if you’re looking for a new riding destination with a rugged, backcountry feel and advanced level features be sure to venture up to Bertram this upcoming dirt season!
