From MORC Wiki
Putting pictures in a wiki article is easy. There are basically two ways to accomplish this.
- Use the wiki file upload and the wiki [[Image:]] tag.
- Upload the pictures to the forums gallery and use the image URL from the preview page.
To use the wiki Image tag, the image must be uploaded to the wiki software. This method provides the most flexible use of images by allowing you to resize, position and manipulate the images. To use this method perform the following:
- Click Upload File in the wiki toolbox on the left hand side.
- Click the browse button and select the file you wish to upload. For this example, we will assume that the image name is My_Image.jpg.
- If you wish to rename the file, you can do so with the destination file name. This is often a good idea since digital cameras give meaningless names like IMG1958.jpg.
- After uploading, browse to the article you wish to include the image in.
- Click edit to edit the article.
- Scroll to where you wish to insert the image and type [[Image:My_Image.jpg]]
- Click show preview to see your changes.
- Click save to save your changes.
Uploading the gallery has the advantage of using the same image file for both, but you lose the wiki software’s ability to manipulate the image (i.e. change size, position it on the left or right.
To do put an image in by this method, follow these steps.
- Find the image you want in the forum gallery and browse to the photo detail screen.
- Click the copy to clip board button to copy the URL of the picture to your clip board. Once it is there, it is important not to copy anything else until you have pasted the URL in to the wiki article you are editing.
- Browse to the Wiki article you wish to place a picture in.
- Click on the edit tab.
- Find the location you wish the picture to be in the article and hold the control key (CTRL) and press V. This will paste the URL in to the article.
- Click show preview to see your changes.
- Click save to save your changes.
