Unfortunately, I've been a bit under the weather lately. I woke up on Saturday with an angry throat and unhappy chest and after spending all day outside rebuilding a playground/swing-set for the boy (he helped for most of the day), I was whooped. I thought about coming out just for cheerleading, but sadly my uniform doesn't fit anymore. So I spent the evening sitting on the floor dispatching of a bag of corn chips and jar of cheese dip while watching Death Race (lots of explosions, but not much else). Oh, and missing Eddie too.
I'll be out for the Halloween race!
Eddie is the wind beneath my monkey wings.Maybe he stayed home because he knew Eddie wouldn't be there.![]()
Remember, we still have the last race of the year yet to come, the Halloween race! It will be held on Halloween and is a costume event. (costume not required though)

Yeah, for everyone who Sally'd out last night, you missed out big time. On top of the free pizza, we had enough great swag to go around twice! Plus all the stuff for awards. Sue brought out some wicked-cool dog tags that you can hang on your bike. They were made from pieces of reclaimed racecar parts in the top of section 4, where the 007 car door is.
We were finally able to wrap up the night racing season and have a great time doing it. The weather was perfect and the fire was even better. A couple of riders had mechanicals and wipeouts, but other than that, another clean event. But we did miss the wit of Monkey Boy. There was no one there to make such witty statements as only he can do. Maybe he stayed home because he knew Eddie wouldn't be there.
Note: We now have proof that Sam is not afraid of the dark.In fact, she appears to be the ONLY female not afraid of the dark (and cold).

Thanks Rich and all the volunteers who helped make it an awesome race last night!
Jeff and I had a blast, as per the norm for all Hillside adventures.
Thanks Red Squirrel for your mad skills as a chain repairman.
Thanks to the advanced guys who asked if I was okay on their second lap.
Thanks Sue for making those killer bike dog tags, and whomever was mentioned for making the glasses. And the shirts. And the bags.
And all the other stuff I got
Pays to be a woman. Score.
See ya on the 31st!
This is the big finale for the series, so bring your fun hat and get ready to use it!
If you're not now... you never were.
Remember, the race will take place Saturday night, same bat channel, same bat time.

Yup! These events are just an excuse for all of us to get together and have a good time. It's not so much about the race as it is about the hanging-out factor. Definitely a good time for anyone, any time. This is the last race of this series, but we have the Halloween race coming up on the 31st... in the daylight hours though.
