Erik's Spring Cup!

This was my first MNSCS race. I rode in the Citizen class and had a great time. Thanks to everyone who made it possible!

While I was riding I noticed a few people taking pictures as I passed by, but I haven't seen any shots of the citizen class posted online. Has anyone seen galleries of the citizen class? Thanks!

My father was one of those people. I think he's still in the middle of editing/uploading pictures.

I myself like a little Rolling Rock

Nice pictures of the rock there. You can see many methods of going over it. Including the not so gracefull looking rolling slowly over the edge caused by a traffic jam ahead.

I had a great time, despite feeling totally destroyed on that 4th lap. Who knew the extra lap for Comp would take so much more out of me?

Key lesson learned from my first Comp race:

* Taking off too fast out of the gate is fine for Sport to avoid being stuck behind slower people in singletrack but next race I'll have to chill.

I'm still trying to learn that!

My 2.5 year old daughter enjoyed her first race EVER!

When it looked like it was just the chain that dropped off the granny gear, I thought it would be easy to get you back in the race. When the rear derailleur finished letting go I hated to tell you that you were done. Glad to hear you will be back for another race. Mountain bikers are a great group and if I had not been then to offer to help I am certain someone else would have.

We knew it was a cheaper component, didn't think it would just give like that though. What a shame. Oh well, I've got that taste for competition now and once I get a better bike, I will be back out there. Thanks again Bruce!

Hey Sam, Was that you in the trees? I yelled out to you to see if you were O.K., but sorry couldn't assist, my pace was just picking up. Hey, I bet you can find a nice bike at Erik's!

Not me in the trees! Although I did see the girl you are talking about! I asked her if she was alright, and she seemed to have a handle on it! For my first race, I was doing stellar until the whole derailleur issue! No falls or close calls, not too bad for a beginner racer! Thanks for the support though! And, by the way, I went to Erik's last night in Roseville, I found a Cannondale that I really liked! They were great and even gave me a sales quote so I can do some research and price comparisons!
