over grown/trees down, but still good

    Trail Condition: Dry
    Date Posted: 07-11-2010 @ 12:03 AM

Details:  It finally dried up in Monticello (or about as dry as it gets back there), but it is really getting overgrown and in need of some clearing. Still an awesome ride!

    Wet!

    Trail Condition: Wet
    Date Posted: 06-25-2010 @ 04:39 PM

Details:  Just got off the trail and out of dodge as mother nature began to pummelled the camp. Trail will be very wet for at least the coming day after the rain this evening.

*First time to this trail, but a few downed tree's...not sure on what loops.

    Trail Condition: Dry
    Date Posted: 04-12-2010 @ 11:24 AM

Details:  The course is currently fast and dry. With the leaves down it is a whole new riding area and perfect. The course is marked well also. Go enjoy.

    Trail Condition: Dry
    Date Posted: 04-07-2010 @ 10:09 AM

Details:  The Harescramble is one month away (5/2/2010). Last season if you followed the whole loop it was 15 miles, but our goal is to create more trail and eventually have several small loops that are incorporated into one large loop..

    Trail Condition: Dry
    Date Posted: 04-07-2010 @ 07:44 AM

    Details:  When is the scramble?
Also - I've not been up there for a while - how many miles are considered in a 'loop'?

    Trail Condition: Dry
    Date Posted: 04-05-2010 @ 11:45 AM

Details:  Rode most of the trail this weekend on a cyclocross bike. The trail is currently marked, dry and in great condition. We encountered some of the riders preping the "hare scrambles" course and as of now they are not using much of the MTB loop. So, get out and ride it.

    Trail Condition: Damp
    Date Posted: 11-30-2009 @ 10:48 AM

Details:  Rode on Saturday 11/28. Some areas were greasy due to the freeze/thaw cycle. Mostly on south facing slopes. I hadn't ridden this trail for a couple of years and was pleasantly surprised. Kudos to those who have been working on the trail!

    11/22/09 trail report

    Trail Condition: Damp
    Date Posted: 11-25-2009 @ 09:22 AM

Details:  I was riding by 7:30am on Sunday morning and the entire loop is awesome. After riding this place for ten years you can really start to tell that it is getting more traffic than ever before. There used to be tall grass in various areas, now it is actually a dirt singletrack trail the whole way... Just wait until we add the new stuff next spring (2-3more miles of singletrack) Enjoy it..

Details:  Rode the Monti loop at 7:15am on Sunday when the grass and trees all still had frost on them. Temps were 28-30f and the trail was perfect. Plan on riding it again this weekend...

    Monti's Mint

    Trail Condition: Tacky
    Date Posted: 11-02-2009 @ 08:00 AM

Details:  Rode the loop on Saturday and Sunday. Tried something different and rode the course backwards and checked some singletrack that we will be incorparating next season. The trail is awesome right now, heavy leaves down in areas, but that is about it. Enjoy it right now as you can really see all the terrain with the leaves down and the views are nice. The course had a few large wet spots on Saturday that were almost half that size by Sunday which means that with a dry week the course will be the same.

Details:  Overall everything is in great shape. It has been a number of years since I have ridden Monticello. The last time I rode out there the route was reversed. A few spots were a little wet but they were in the same areas where they remained wet years ago. I assume these areas are wet most of the time.

    Damp and clear

    Trail Condition: Damp
    Date Posted: 10-08-2009 @ 02:30 PM

Details:  We rode the trail last Sunday 10/4/09 and found two trees down. I went out today 10/8/09 on my lunch hour with the Polaris Sportsman 800X2 that is on loan and used the donated chainsaw (thanks Don) to clear the two downed trees. The rest of the trail is ready and damp with a few very small mud holes, but the soil is relatively sandy so it dries fast. It is still a work in progress, and we have big plans ahead of us....Enjoy it right now in its natural form...
