Trail Condition: Tacky

Rode yesterday, the trail is in fantastic condition despite having been raced a week ago! Mostly dry, with some tack in the woods, no mud or puddles anywhere. I hadn't ridden this trail since last summer and forgot how much fun it is -- for my money, this may be the most fun trail in the state!!! No disrespect to all of the other trails that people have spent so much time/effort on, but it's hard to compete with the natural topography that Red Wing offers!
In particular, here's what I love about the Memorial Park trail system:
(1) I appreciate the variety of challenge offered; some sections are clearly for advanced riders only and challenge even experts, yet there's nearly always a beginner-friendly opt-out. (2) I can't get enough of the descents and climbing - it's hard to find this amount of elevation change on most MN trails. (3) The advanced loop is "feature-rich" -- bridges, log crossings, teeter-totter (see-saw), jumps, drops, skinny logs, etc -- which adds interest and challenge to the already intense singletrack. (4) Several sections of this trail are among my favorite lines on any MN trail I've ridden; in particular the 'red' descent under the bridge, the 'down-and-up' the steep valley walls that is (I think) shortly after the big trail sign and before the teeter-totter, and of course the 'downhill' or 'jumps' line - though not well marked - which culminates in the big drop before bombing all the way down to the golf course. And finally, (5) The park itself is beautiful, with views of surrounding valleys and bluffs, interesting history, plenty of parking, grill areas, frisbee golf, so bring the rest of the family along while some of you ride!
p.s. Huge thanks to the volunteers who have built & maintained this excellent trail, keep up the great work!
p.p.s To MORC site admin, I know this post falls only loosely under 'trail conditions', but there doesn't seem to be an active 'trail discussion' thread. I'd appreciate it if you could leave this comment or move it to a different thread, but not totally remove it, if possible, thanks!
