    Trail Condition: Closed
    Date Posted: 12-20-2014 @ 05:58 AM

Details:  Given the warm temps forecasted for the next three days and the lack of snow cover at Theo we are calling all trails CLOSED until we get more snow and sub-freezing temps.

Severe damage was caused in many sections by a few selfish people did during last weekend's warm-up.

Don't be one of those people. Please stay off all sections until you hear differently. Stay tuned here or the Conditions section on the MORC Forums.

    Trail Condition: Packed
    Date Posted: 12-17-2014 @ 05:19 AM

    Details:  Thank you JP!

Just updating to "Packed". The "Fat" designation is confusing to some so we do NOT use the "Fat" designation at Theo. Some might take "Fat" as a requirement rather than a recommendation.

Theo is the poster child for Multi-use. If it is open...it is open to all.

Thanks again for for taking the time to post the thorough update JP.

Details:  Rode Theo tonite on 12.17 after it snowed just 1.5" and the trail is really nice.....yes everything melted over the last few days but then it got cold luckily the moist ground re-froze just before it snowed the paltry 1 or 2" that we got....so picture frozen trail but with 1.5" of soft white fresh stuff to cushion things....really fun, epic traction, but yes could use a few more inches of snow to make it perfect. Some skinny tire mtn bikers did try to ride the trail during the warm melt-down we had which totally ruined the trail for the first 200 yards or so until they realized they were not having fun or were ruining the trail, but whatever let's not hate on the dumb-dumbs as they probly don't realize the damage they do. Here's a pic of the trail tonite....I'm giving it 4 out of 5 stars. Trails are Open, go MORC!

    Details:  Major melting this weekend.

Theo trails are now closed and we anticipate them remaining so until the ground has refrozen. Think Tuesdayish.

Details:  Best guess is back to frozen with chance of icy. Won't make it out there today so if someone does, please update conditions as appropriate.

    Trail Condition: Melting
    Date Posted: 11-22-2014 @ 08:49 AM

Details:  It will be very melty today.

Please stay off the Theo trails until temps go back below freezing for a day or so.

These freeze / thaw / freeze scenarios is when the dirt trail below the snow is most susceptible to damage.

    Trail Condition: Packed
    Date Posted: 11-20-2014 @ 07:31 PM

Details:  Trail is nicely packed and wide. There are tiny patches of ice here and there throughout the trail to give you a nice zing. No studs needed. First time for me on the South of Glenwood trail and it was great! A real roller coaster.

Details:  Conditions could be called packed with sections that are icy OR icy with the majority being packed.

Whatever you call it, there are definitely some sections that have concealed icy spots. Or unconcealed bare ice. Still, the majority is well-packed. But even with studded tires, I found some slick and dicey spots.

North 40 is probably the iciest. Glenwood seemed better, but there are still a few spots that might catch you off-guard if you aren't riding somewhat easy style.

Details:  I would definitely recommend studs for the new loop. I survived a couple laps without, but there was some puckering going on, and no established crusty edge to keep you from skittering off down the slope. One climb near the southern end of the southbound leg that I couldn't make it up.

    But still awesome!

Glenwood, with one minor exception near the picnic table, was solid even without studs.

Details:  As of 11:00 this AM, the north loop was 60% packed snow, 40% ice ribbon. Ice was frozen nice and hard. Those that do not want to slip on ice will definitely want studs. Those that like to drift a bit, it's perfect. The crusty stuff on the edge will usually catch you before you go down.
