Discussion related to the MNMBS series.
Hello everyone! Thanks to Brendan Bellew who pointed out to me that there were some errors in the standings that involved us Bushendorfs. Checking through, there actually were MANY errors for a bunch of different people...just a suggestion to glance over the standings and make sure you are...
It looks like we will have a wet trail for the race tomorrow. Does anybody know how this trail holds water, and the type of tire they plan on running? Will it be slimmy clay, or sand, or chunky peanut butter and jelly
Hey all -- any recommendations for SS gear ratio for Jail Trail? I like to go a smidge on the spinny side, i.e. 34x18 at Inver Grove, 32x20 at Buck. (Also, I rider a 29er.) I've never ridden there before and, sadly, I missed getting in a pre-ride because of the afternoon rain. Thanks for...
What is the deal with the name POWDER MONKEY. My sister inlaw asked why do they call it power monkey and i corrected her that it was powder not power monkey. Then she exclaimed that powder (snow) has nothing to do with a mountain bike race. Then I told her that it had something to do with a...
Does anyone have any suggestions on camping in the St.Cloud area? Planning to race MTB on Saturday and 'cross on Sunday, but don't really want to make the same drive two days in a row, and I'm far too cheap to hotel it. Any info would be helpful!
Hello wise MORC elders. I have a question for you. I am wondering about this whole singlespeed championships hooplah that is going down at St. Cloud. My question is, if a racer decides to do the championships, and races the sport course along with the sporties, do their placings get counted in...
No Laddies?, No Powder Monkey? Did your contract run out Dana? Or did I overlook a message regarding an explaination for no pics for these two events? Just curious.
Hello- The person who was going to recap the Powder Monkey event did not race. Would anyone like to recap the event for the series website? If you are interested please email me at d.schoppe@comcast.net Thank You in advance Dana
Kudos to everyone involved with this year's race. What a great time. I love the fact that every year there's something new on the route. The volunteers were friendly and the course clearly marked. The weather was strangely hot for Duluth in September! When the rain came down for a bit, that felt...
Great weekend full of a great course, great food, and great competition. Thanks Maplelag and everyone involved for an awesome way to spend Labor Day Weekend. Also thank you to everyone for singing to John Oman on his birthday Sunday. I think he appreciated it!
Of course, these were just some clips we took of some portions of the race that had people we knew in them, but I thought maybe someone might appreciate seeing them. Had a great time at Spirit Mountain. Thanks Adam for all your help before and after the race. Kudos on the speedy awards and...
Is anyone else having problems using the MNSCS registration site? I've been trying for a couple days and have still not received the stupid confirmation email (yes, I checked spam). I was hoping to be able to sign up in advance. thanks
Dunno who else is going up Saturday, but I've been talking with a few folks about driving up Saturday AM and camping Saturday night, do some riding in town, etc. just to have a genreal all around good time. As it stands, looks like I'll be taking my Tahoe, which means I would have room for 3 more...
Due to Spirit Mountain hosting multiple weddings on Saturday, we won't be able of allow pre-riding on Saturday before the Powder Monkey. If you pre-ride earlier in the week, please try and avoid going near the chalet as Spirit may be hosting other events. I would highly recommend riding at...
I don't get it. We don't need a license to run or ski race.
