I'll be down at the River Bottoms at about noon on Wednesday, Nov 19, to extend the stairs about 6 feet, on the east side of Nine Mile Creek. It's a job I can do alone, but with help it will go much easier & maybe I'll have time for a ride afterward. Give me a shout if you're off work or want to play hooky and join me. I'll bring all the necessary tools.

Thanks,

Wish I was down helping you guys on the stairs. Sitting inside at work on a day like this is pretty tough.

Hope all is going well.

The job was done in good tme on a marvelous fall day with great help from Dirk D & Mike L; more workers would not have helped - we'd have been tripping over each other. As usual, I think we recruited a few new MORC members when they saw MORC people in action.

The step extension looks real wierd, with a downward slant and a slight spiral to the left, due to the soft muddy bank & maybe some sloppy measuring by yours truly. Being a perfectionist, maybe I'll correct the spiral appearance with some cedar shake shims.

The trail was in good shape, with the exception of the bypass through the meadow that winds back & forth across a shallow ravine. It was soft & a bit muddy, evidently due to the black dirt soil.

As always Don, you never fail to impress. the extra stairs are the perfect addition to the creek crossing (short of a tree conveniently falling across the gap... ahem god!!)

:D

thanks.
