I built these wheels for myself when I worked at Hed cycling products back in the day, they are one of only two sets of these in existence!! They are a custom version of the normal Hed XC wheels, these wheels have 2 layers of 4oz carbon fiber in them, instead of one layer, and a fiberglass layer. What does this mean? These are lighter, and stiffer than the normal XC wheels, and light years stronger in the hoop direction. I rode these wheels for 3 seasons, and I have never had to true them. They are built up with billet aluminum Hed sonic hubs with sealed bearings. The front is a 24 spoke, radial laced, with titanium bladed spokes, the rear is 28 spoke, titanium bladed spokes with radial on the non-drive side, and (I think) 3-cross on the drive side. I need to double-check, but I think I have a 7 speed cassette on the rear, XT cassette.
This is a very unique set of wheels, very rare, and I built them with my own 2 hands(even the carbon layup), I kinda hate to sell them, but I need the cash, and they are just hanging in my garage.
I'd like to ask $300 OBO, originally, these would have been in the $1000-1600 range, ifyou would have been able to get them.
