If you are like me you've probably noticed that there are a few spots along the river trail where trash seems to accumulate (Boat Ramp Lot, Ferry Bridge Lot, Turn Bridge and other various Party Spots).

Now I doubt much of this is due to MTB riders but that shouldn't stop us from spending a few minutes cleaning it up while enjoying the trail.

So here's the plan - Sunday 10AM (19 October) - meet at the Boat Ramp Parking lot - I'll have some trash bags - we'll scour that immediate area - bagging the lighter stuff (paper + recyclables) and dragging any big stuff into a pile for the city to pick up - then my thoughts are to head off down towards the Ferry Bridge Lot - picking up and bagging trash as we go (so bring your bike and maybe a backpack) - we can drop full bags at various places for the city to pick up. If a few folks want to say park at Indian Mounds and meet us at the Boat Ramp (or start at the Ferry Bridge) that is fine and that way maybe we can actually cover the whole trail.

Lemme know if you have other suggestions/thoughts.

Hope to see Sunday.

Thanks to Don Youngdahl, Jim Goodermont & Brian Madden major amounts of trash were collected around the boat ramp and Ferry Bridge parking lots (Dennis your chair has been removed). Also, several small re-routes were accomplished West of the Turn Bridge and East of the Ferry Bridge lot - please ride them in! Don also got the opportunity to use his power tools and chain saw maintaining his impressive fleet of bridges - some impromptu muscle was provided by Tim Peyton and his friends.

Coming up this week is a meeting with the city to work out the budget for the re-routes east of Lyndale - more to come.

Thanks for reading.
