This site is a great resource for info on the off road trails (geee, can't figure out why:)), but where could I go to get info on the paved trails in the metro?

There's a lot of great scenic paved trails in the metro, but it seems I only find them by word of mouth. It would be cool if there is a site that has them mapped out or maybe a book you can buy? This might exist or might not, anyone know?

Thanks
jas

Here is one source.
Hennepin Trails (http://www.hennepinparks.org/trails/trails_paved.cfm)

Here's another one that's kind of statewide, but it does have info about the Gateway trail that starts in St. Paul
Minnesota Bike Trails (http://www.mnbiketrails.com/)

There are also a couple of printed maps/books that I have picked up in the past that have maps of most of the city trails. I can't remember what they are called, but you should be able to find something at one of the bike shops.

In June the MS Society holds their MS 150 Ride on the Munger trail from Duluth to Hinckley then ride to Lake Elmo the next day. It’s one of my favorite rides, Very well organized and a lot of fun. Go to www.ms150.com for more info

You can check out a Twin Cities trail book at a library. There are a few out there. The Twin Cities Bicycle Club has a pretty good one also. www.mtn.org/tcbc/

Cool, more good info - thanks.

I have heard of the MS150. Someday I might try that, but I'd be apprehensive to jump right into it, I probably can't keep up with all those guys:)

Have faith in yourself, there are people of all ages and skill levels on that ride. Trust me there will be plenty of people behind you at the end of the day.

There are MS30 and 60 rides too, as well as the TRAM. They are all easy going and everyone is there for a good time and socializing....

Hmmmm.... I will have to think about it:) Are you, or anyone else on the site here going to be riding in it?

I have always been able to talk at least one other guy into going with me. I’d love to get a team together though. I will put out a post as it gets closer to see if there is interest.

Well, if you're interested in having me on your "team" then I'm even more interested in going:) It sounds like you've done this before. I've got a bizillion questions about fundraising and whatnot then, didn't seem like there was much info on the site.

I suppose it's a bit early for much of that yet though.

It does look like riders of just about any skill level can participate, they've got rest stops every 8 to 10 miles.

It looks like a blast.

Hey I got another guy at work here, who is a MTB'er as well, interested in going along. Sounds like he's thought about going on that ride before but just never had the modivation of a group.

This is sweet:)
