Just got back from Levis yesterday.. Absolutely beautiful right now, and the leaves create a cool new challenge... Staying on the trail! We had a blast... It's pretty sandy, but it started raining as we left yesterday, so that might help a little...
Anyone know of any other Wisconsin trails to explore?

Hey Douglas,
I'll take you up on that one day! To me, that is the perfect distance to drive, just enough to feel like your away from the Cities, but only 2 and a half hours to get back...
I have a nagging suspicion that I wouldn't see much of ya there except your dust, the trails on the north/east face like the Cliffhanger really psych me out! I rode the Cliffhanger and only had to touch down at a couple spots, but on that little of a ledge/trail, even putting down a foot is dangerous! I think momentum is your only ally there..
There was this one section of the Cliffhanger where you are riding along this 2-foot wide, eroding, slanted trail, dipping up and down and having to work all these rocks and sand (with a big drop on one side and a cliff wall on the other)... There is a tree growing out of the side and the roots come out of the wall and spread out over the trail (about 3 feet of different sized roots) right when you are heading up out of a dip... I came within an inch of skydiving!
What's the story with 9-mile?

Ive yet to ride at Levis :crazy2: so I must get there. I hear its better than 9 mile but I still love 9 mile.
Wausau is the home of the 9 mile forest and one of the best 24 hour race courses in the midwest (not that there are too many but it rocks) Its got tons of trails to ride, singletrack to fire road to singletrack. Its a logging area, so it always smells like fresh cut wood and has a very good flow to the trails. Some rock sections and tight turns, some long singletrack and such as well. Not that much climbing, and when it is there its mainly on open areas or fire roads.
It takes around 2.5-3 hours to get to 9 mile, its only 180 miles away, usually a morning day trip, ride, eat, put the lights on for a few night miles, then drive home.
Im off this week on Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday (after 1) So if ya wanna head out lemme know!!
