Would anyone be interested in heading down to this race with me. If I can get 3 others we can form a team and head down. Not looking to win, although that would be nice, I just wanna go try some 24 hour races not in the mid-west to see how they are. That and it might be a little warmer there than here.
Race is in Feb sometime....Ill post more when it comes up and I know about it,.....fees, dates, ect...

lemme know though guys/gals!!

ARRGG! i can't go to Tuson to race. . :cryin: i'm so bummed the reasons 1) parents don't trust me:eyeroll: 2)parents do trust a bunch of old mountian biking dudes to watch me:D haha 3) i wont be able to make up enough money in time and my parents aren't helpin(figures + i need another bike adding on to my 14 i already have) 4) my mom is making go to Washington D.C. with skool over SPRING BREAK!! meaning no time for riding at all those sweet two weeks. . :cryin: :cryin: it hurts to hear those words. . ouch

I was reading the website and found this highlighted - "Bring Tweezers". Sounds like frustration at 3:AM in the desert.

Yeah I guess there are ton of thorns and stuff out there. Ill prolly just bring an extra wheelset setup. That and either run latex in the tubeless or just run a tubed setup with barriers.

Tory, well I guess Ill have to ride with ya at Afton in 04 then :) Maybe we can get ya out at 9 mile, thats only 3 hours away!!

Doug I'm all about giving this a shot as a solo rider. It would be nice to know someone If I do go. I'll have to see what's going on. The word I've heard from people at afton that did 24'rs in the southwest is that Afton is a mad blood thirsty beast when compared. It does look like there is some serious climbing on the course down there though. Let me know what you decide to do.

Alright I just looked at the website again. Tinker Juarez was there last year. Now I gotta go! I finally have a decent bike (as of this week) and time to actually get ready for a race. I might have to skip the ice climbing festival in Canada this year.

I'm there. I want to see how I do on a track with these guys.

Yeah I plan on going, as long as I can afford it :) If no "team" arises I'd even be willing to head down with you and be your patsy for the weekend. Solo is ALWAYS best with a crew!!

Is anyone still trying to get a team or group of people to go down to the race? If so, I may be interested...

Yeah, I still wanna head down, even if i dont race I wanna go! But id rather race, hrmmmm or sit and take care of bikes, cook and pound some beer....damn choices. Either way, count me in, so long as i can get the time off and afford the trip down that is.

Need to enter by Jan. 12 to avoid late charge.

My thoughts:
Leave Thur. 12 in the AM
Arrive Fri. 13 in the AM
Preride Fri.
Race Sat. 14 - Sun. 15
Leave Sun. 15th PM
Home Mon. 16th PM

Your thoughts??

I was originally going to shoot for a week total....leave like Wed get there Thurs...ride.....no preride on Friday, light spin....Race Sat/Sun stay Monday to catch up on sleep leave Tuesday back on Wed.

But like I said...ill try and tag along even if im not racing.....i can do support for a team easily.....all the mechanicals ect....food....drinking :) .......yelling at ya to go faster and stay awake......

Anyone else wanna do this? We'll need 4 for sure!

I have another person that might go, he will let me know soon. We were talking about maybe doing a Duo team if we couldnt find anyone else and seeing if we could get someone to go with to help drive and pit. I will post as soon as I get an answer from the other guy.

My buddy cant go but I still want too. If I cant get on another team I would be interested in riding solo. I would still like to "carpool" with a couple other guys if possible.

Shawn you driving or flying?
