A crew of 5 Minnesota boys did 90 miles of the trail the Mon/Tues before Hayward. We did it in style with a camper and sag driver meeting us along the way. Can't say enough about the adventure. Everything happened ! Flat tires were no big deal, water was a big deal (stopped at a ranch to get more water on the first day). Broken rear delralier sucked. Endos (two of us) were cool. Hike a bike on the north end (can't go in the park) was challenging (up and down mountains) Difficult to find trail markers caused a few detours. Camping and sleeping under the stars was great. Free range cattle looked mean! Get a forest service map - forget the maps on the internet. Gusty 20 plus wind added to the fun. Devils Canyon was worth it. Alot of climbing - yes in North Dakota!
