So, took Reese (my wife) out on the river bottoms trail Saturday. She rode from Lyndale to Ferry bridge and back again and did every log roll! :D

But, in the middle of the ride we encountered one individual who added a sour note. He was going West, we were going East. I yell "bike up!" and move to the side. Reese was immediately behind me and didn't have time to move, so the other guy moved to the side. As Reese goes by, he says to her "C'mon c'mon c'mon!" sounding honestly irritated.

I don't remember if I saw a Flanders jersey or not, but my kick-@ss wife immediately turned and said to him as he rode away, "Ass!"

In contrast, I ran across 3 kids that must have been around 12 on dirt bikes 2 afternoons ago. I moved over as they were going west and I was going east. I later met them again at the raft. They offerred to let me go first, then we agreed to all go together. These kids were so nice that I can only hope that my son grows up to be like them.

I bike the river valley a lot during the early morning and afternoon, and I've done trail work several times in the evening. I have yet to meet a jerk, but I know they're out there. I'm more worried about the stupid deer that stand on the path and stare at me more than any of the humans

Dude, relax. BMX bikes and dirt bikes are just for kids anyway, so what's the big deal?

By the looks of the kids, they were more likely to try and chain a motor on the thing than race it anyways :geek:

My mistake :embarass:
