I currently have a Manitou axel comp(80mm) on my current bike. It works fine except for the fact that it bottoms out if I press down hard, even if I have it tightened all the way. I'm looking for a new fork with a 100 mm travel that is adjustable and reliable. My price range is under $200? I was looking at the Marzocchi EXR for $180ish. Any suggestions?

Kerber, I just made $60 for sitting in car, how easy is that. A new fork will be coming soon!

The Axels are known to break. So...

Ride it hard enough to break. Have it sent back to the factory. When you get a new one, sell it, and add that to your $200. Then look into what Marzocchi Bomber if you want that much travel.

I have been riding a Marzocchi EXR all year and have been very happy with it. I really enjoy the plush feel of the coil fork and have only bottomed it a couple of times (bear in mind I weigh in at 240 lbs). It is heavier than the air forks, and if this is a concern then you definitely should save up and buy a higher end fork. My only real complaint is that it has no lockout.

Cheers
