Just curious to see what other plans people have for the long weekend. Are ya riding anywhere special? Going camping? Fishing? State fair people watchin'?

I noticed a couple of rides planned already. Milaca should be a fun one. I'd be there if I was in town.

My plans: Heading to my wife's hometown in Ontonagon, MI. Yup, she's a Yooper. Big, small town, labor day festivities and visiting with family. Makin' thimbleberry Jam with Grandma. Sunday I'll be riding in the Copper Harbor Fat Tire Festival. And at some point in the weekend, hopefully hook up with Martini and Lisa, who will be in Houghton for a wedding.

What'r your plans. . . ?

Time to explore Levi Trow!

I'll be dragging my wife over to WI to check out the supposedly great trail system over there. If you see a couple taking a low-key cruise on Sunday, stop and say "hey."

This weekend for my girlfriend and me should be pretty nice and low key. I think tonight we'll be checking out the fair, the people, the food...I feel an unholy attraction between myself and the battered and fried White Castle on a stick that must be dealt with.
I recently bought a bike commuter map of the metro so I think I'll cruise around on the trails and do some sightseeing on Saturday.
And Sunday I'm hoping to do the beginner group ride if that works out.

Shell Lake WI. Has their Town and Country Days this weekend and they sponsor a 28 mi. road race on Saturday. I do it every year just hopping to beat my time from the year before. It’s a fun ride and the walls I mean hills at around the 20 MI. mark are quite humbling.

Other than that just kicking back camping with the wife and kids.

The new wife and I have a fun-filled weekend of doing the following two things:

1 - Jack
2 - Spit (or another word like it ;) )

I might try to convince her to do the Sunday beginner ride, though. We'll see.

Goin' to the lake, not north like half the population of Minneapolis, but east to Central Wisconsin.

I'll be driving near Levis Trow, but that's as close to mountain biking as I'll get this weekend. There's not enough room on the top of the Outback for all of the toys.

I've managed to fool them for another month... they paid me again!

So, hopefully Saturday will be spend bike shopping, Sunday riding, and Monday visiting family.

BTW, checked out Levis-Trow last Sunday with a buddy. Great trail, but we went out there kinda late, arrivin around 6 p.m.! Only got in 1 1/2 hours of ridiing or so before heading home.

It's kind of a drive (2 hours) so if you do go make sure to make a day of it, otherwise you might think it's not worth the trip :eyeroll:

I also think it'd be a perfect trail to train on if you've got a Maah Daah Hey trip in your future. The sandy, dusty spots were very Badlands-ish and the overall length would give you some good endurance training. :)

Just returned home from Calaway(Maplelag resort) for the last race of the MSCS. It was a great event, and great place to be. The trails were very technical and satisfying to say the least. Great family event. Awesome weekend.:D

Tracy and I went out to the Park Tavern in Bloomington with some friends and saw Frank Vacelero (sp?) and sang some karaoke Friday night. Saturday night we went to Jillian's for a friends birthday and played lots of video games. Sweet!
We also did a ton of packing as we close on our new townhome in Eagan at the end of September. woohoo!
I met Kleincrazy and a friend at The Farm on Saturday morning and rode a couple laps - awesome. The weather was perfect.

Last night I played some PS2 and then we watched Final Destination 2. Now we're just chillin.

Lisa and I went to da UP for a wedding as Troy said. Unfortunately, we weren't able to hook up with he and Kerry. Bummer. Still had a helluva weekend though. Got to ride all day saturday at the Maatso Hiito/Churning Rapids trail system in Hancock. Spent 3 hours in the morning exploring and another 3 later in the afternoon doing the same. The system they've got there is stunning. MH is more multi use/ATV, but is still fun, shile CR is all single track and all killer. Reminds me of the Farm, but just longer and faster. Tons o' fun was had. I got a few pics that I'll post up later.

Sunday was the wedding on the Shore of Lake Superior. Had a good time. Got waaaaay to drunk (quote by me: "I'm just this side of telling every one I love them." and "I'm not confused, just drunk.") on free wine. Woke up to the sun rising over the lake as I'm in my tent wondering what truck hit me. Good times were had by all.

"Well, um, actually a pretty nice little Saturday, we're going to go to Home Depot. Yeah, buy some wallpaper, maybe get some flooring, stuff like
that. Maybe Bed, Bath, & Beyond, I don't know, I don't know if we'll have enough time. "

Unfortunately, my weekend wasn't too far off from this quote. I got a short morning ride in on Sat. morning and then spent the rest of the weekend with the 'rents and fiance. We did manage to pick up a(nother) new puppy. So I see a lot of "no"'s, "off"'s and "d@mn it"'s in my near future.

Went up to Cable WI again and rode on Saturday and Sunday. It's the first riding that I've done in a month since I severly strained the muscles in my upper back/shoulder. I rode as long as the pain allowed, which wasn't so bad unless I wanted to look where I was going. Riding anything technical wasn't so fun. The legs and lungs say go, go, go. But the back says no, no, no. This sucks.

I rode at Rock Lake, with it's new singletrack sections and lots of rerouting. Remember that fast, rocking and rolling roller-coaster ride? Well say goodbye to that as the Rock Lake Trail is being "MORC-ified" ala Lebanon Hills style. They are also "reclaiming" some of the existing trail for X-C skiing, which means that they are widening it slightly and digging up all of the big rocks to smooth out the trail. Eventually, the MTB trail will largely be separate from the ski trails.

Not really saying this is a bad thing. But it's kind of sad to see the thrill of old trail being erased.

Oh man, that is a GREAT movie! :) My wife and I saw it and when he tells the partying college kids about his "big day" tomorrow we both look at each other shocked, realizing this is exactly what our lives have become.

That is an awesome movie! Ahhh, honey do you think KFC is still open?

Rockclimbing all weekend. Getting ready to glimb Grand Teton at the end of this month. Then who knows what. For anybody interested they have an adventure race by Taylors Falls in October. There is about 35 milse of mountain biking, Climb/rapellin, Paddling, and about 20 miles of trail running/orienteering. You get like 12 hours to finish but have to qualify each event.

Check it out.
