1. Hunter cusotm 29" SS w/ebb and disc. The pride and joy. (it's got gears now though, but they may come off soon)
2. WTB Pheonix kona P2 fork Surly tensioner and butchered XTR cassette. The Classic.
3. Kona Unit SS frame. Surly hub. rigid fork. The beater bike.
4. Trek Roadie set up fixed/free w/flat h-bars. The Commuter.
5. AMF 1950's cruiser used for bar crawls. The favorite.
6. Schwinn 1950/60's tandem. The Limo from our wedding.
'93 Univega Alpina Pro, rigid, XT hubs with spacers and a singleator.
1960'sish? Rollfast cruiser with sweep bars and coaster brake.

My sstable is not nearly as impressive as Martini's. Maybe some day...
The setup : clapped-out '95 Breezer Lightning frame and fork, with a singleator, spot 34-tooth front ring, and 18 tooth cog out back with spacers on an LX hub.
I rode the riverbottoms this past weekend on the Breezer, man was that fun, until I flipped over backwards and landed on my lower back. Then I had to Tyler Hamilton-it back to my house in So. Mpls.

1990 'Dale SM800 (the one with a slanted toptube), ridged Perperoni fork, 34T front ring, 18T XT rear cog and an old XT derailure for a chain tensioner. It's a SS on a budget and it works perfect.

Used to have a Santa Cruz chameleon SS with a rigid Bianchi fork, but I sold that to get my FS Norco. Now my SS rides are a Dyno Ultra Glide Kustom Kruiser, and about 75-80 vintage and classic middleweight and balloon tired schwinns, western flyers, rollfasts, daytons, murrays, etc.
I encourage anyone who may be looking to build a cruiser bar/beater/custom bike to drop me a line if you need a frame, I have a lot, and I don't need it all!!

Kurt, what are your opinions of the two circles and the on-one? what hubs are you running? Two circles look like excellent bikes, I'm just looking for some real feedback:)

both are excellent bike makers.
two circles will be whatever you want [within reason...] they are really great to work w/, spent hours on the phone and many emails getting my frame exactly right. the powdercoaters they use held up progress on the batch of frames mine was in and the results aren't what i'd call great but.....light/good easton tubing, really nice welds.
i'd recommend them to anyone wanting a custom ss.
on-one is also great. taiwain made but what isn't.... great welds
nice paint, good tubing [their own spec]. not the lightest frames but not the heaviest either. made to last... brant will answer all your/my stupid questions/emails and shipping from the uk is faster than in the usa.
can't go wrong w/ either...
on the twocircles i use the novatec hub which you can get thru qbp. it's heavy, has sealed bearings and a freehub and made for discs. it's also a knockoff of the hub that on-one designed/sells.
seems alsmost indestructible.
the on-one uses a surly hub.

I'll put my foot in now.
I run a '96 Klein Attitude Single. Manitau super Front Disc fork. Acid Mechanical Front Disc. Rear avid Arch 5.0. General specs are nothing special but weight is at or below 20 #'s running big old 2.35 tires.
If anyone is looking for a very nice custom single I would highly recomend Sofa King. Every option imaginable, tubing, dropouts, forks, components, sizing, you name it. VERY VERY Pricey, but beautiful bikes.

A BMX frame such as a Standard OX Platinum STA......that would be a good singlespeed frame........:).

1. Phil Wood / Independent Fabrication PISSOFF Custom Ti EBB Disc only frame... Currently have Rohloff installed, but I want to put the Rohloff on something else instead.
2. Custom Co Motion about to go through "singulator conversion"
3. Unknown brand conversion Road frame fixie - sweet orange color
4. Vintage Trek 520 with singulator conversion
5. Unicycle
6. 1952 Hawthorn
7. 1950's or 60's Schwinn - (Two speed kickback)
8. Vintage Schwinn Twin tandem
I ahve been very tempted to order one of the on-one ebb Inbreds.... dreaming of ordering a custom Retrotec 29'r frame with EBB and discs... Maybe I can talk my wife into it, but I already surprised her with deposit on a new VW R32...

I am going to pick up the karate monkey this afternoon. I have a partial build list, but I still need to finish it up.
Looks like sun rhino lites w/surly 1x1 rear hub, sun rhinos and deore front disc.
TruVativ crank (180mm w/32gear)
avid mechanical front disc/avid v-brake in back
WTB nanos
still deciding on a headset, bar, and stem. Should be a fun bike, can't wait to crank it along the river bottoms:)

Only one choice for headset.
Chris King.
Handlebar. I would suggest a nice wide mediaum riser bar. If you are running rigid I would go with a Carbon bar to help damp the vibrations.
stem, your choice really.
sound like it will be nice. Brake setup is the same as mine.

Brett, if you're going cheap parts hunting, ya gotta come to the Bike Swap at 117 N Washington on the 28th of this month garunteeed to find good parts cheap there. Starts Noonish or so. Bring cash. Sounds like you've got a sweet set up so far. I'd love to have a set of those Paul Disc Hubs myself. Got a set of the normal ones and they're great.

98 Fisher Aquila frame salvaged from down by the river at the U. Dropouts chopped and horizontals added by Bob Brown of Kenwood Racing Team fame...
GT threadless rigid fork, ritchey headset, Crupi BMX chain tensioners, Deore brakes, XT brake levers (user to be integrated shifter/brake levers until I removed the shifter perches with a hacksaw), Salsa Moto super-wide flat bar, Salsa Shaft seatpost, Salsa Moto Ace stem, Juegos de Fuego grips... trek bar-ends won from Thursday night, ugly Celeste bianchi saddle, old wheels (converted the rear to a bolt-on), Panaracer Fire XC 2.1 tires...

Brett, any update on the KM? Are you too busy riding it to share your comments?
I have managed to lure my brother over to the dark side. He was complaining about shifting problems and I cured his shifting woes. I talked him into the idea that he needs a singlespeed. He bought John's Surly 1x1 and loves it! What's even better is the fact that his wife loves it too. She's now thinking that a new singlespeed is in her future.
