After a few laps around the double XX loop you tead to lose focus or are a little lax on judgement. Found out the hard way yesterday morning, there is a nice sized tree angled across the trail a little after the log ride and just after the small log jump toward the last of the rock gardens. I hit this tree full bore, almost knocking myself out. Luckily, able to regain balance before ending up in the pile of brush next to the trail. Noticeable dent in the bucket, still seeing stars and very much dizzy, had to rest on the log on the side of the trail before continuing out.
After knocking out some errands on the honey-do list, was able to get back out to the Bottoms. Parking at the Bloomington Ferry lot heading east. Had just crested the long gradual hill on the bluff side with the picnic table at the top, when I gulped the last of the water.
I had forgoten to top off the Camelback prior to heading out again. It was a nice dry ride back to the lot.
Still, it was a great day for riding and no bee stings to report.
