People always argue as to what thier favorite part of lebanon really is. I have heard the logs, the table top, or the proud feeling of not falling hard, (Cough Cough) my self, but really what is your favorite part and why!

to be fair, lebanon is not a hard trail, and if your not falling, you're just not riding hard enough :p

After you have gone over the tabletop in the XX loop you wind around and drop off a single log. It isn't scary or difficult - its just a single log... but for some reason I like that section the best. I hope to put in a few more like that in time.
I like how you can roll over it without effort, or you can pull up and jump off it, or you can try land on both wheels, or you can ride a front wheelie if you want. Its just small enough that most of you probably don't even know what I'm talking about, but just enough of an obstacle to allow for both learning and experimenting. I like my log stairs too, but it isn't my favorite.
Tomten is cool - I like riding under him and giving him the high-five on my way out of the XX.
My least favorite are all gravel doubletrack roads. In the next two years I hope we can say they are all gone - then I won't have a least favorite.

After thinking about it for a while, I think my favorite part is that rock that makes a little ramp, you can see it coming and it has a good run out, so I can always get some fun air off it.
There are so many good parts though that it is hard to pick just one, Lebanon rocks.
Except for the expert loop rock garden, you can bulldoze that :D, it took some more skin from me last night, but I finally cleaned it.

My favorite keeps shifting around on me. I think it changes based on your level of ability.
When I first started learning how to corner I loved the tight, twisting downhill after the "minor" X loop rock garden (the one that comes shortly after the "major" X loop rock garden most people hate). I'm sure you all know the one. You know it's not like this at all, but you could imagine your head moving in a straight line while your bike dips and leans into the turns. I always describe it as "that part of the trail that goes WOOP! WOOP! WOOP! through the turns!"
Lately, though, I really like the flat log roll after the pair of log drops toward the beginning of the X loop. When you're first riding Lebanon you take that whole section pretty slow: rolling over the two downhill log rolls, then jarring yourself over the flat logs after the left turn. Now, I speed up and catch air off the first two, then nose bonk and clear the flat log roll. When done right it's such a sweet feeling to just float over a part of the trail that used to be so harsh :).

Oooo, yes, that too is another favorite. I love launching off that pile. We need more like that one - less of an a-frame shaped log pile, something you can clear or ride depending on your skill level (or preference)

I didn't notice but were you taking the "path of good" or the "path of evil?"

Ahhhh... yeah! That's one of our many "no brake zones", which are the best part of the trails. Where as I try to clear the whole pile Crash can somehow pogo off the top of it on the way over.
One of my favorite parts is near the beginning of the intermediate trail from that little log jump/drop on, you can just pump through and really dig into the corners...

Yeah, that section's pretty cool, too. Last year I was having a blast when I noticed my tires made this "vwwwwwt! vvvwwwt!" sound as I dug them into the corners. Coooool :)
That little log drop before the corners is pretty fun, too.

Well, I think most of you know the table is my favorite part. I can bust X-ups and one hander one footers while riding my mountain bike, now that rules. I also like the flat log roll in the X-Loop. It's nice to just launch off the first log and downside (front wheel first, then back wheel follows) the last log. It's so smooth I don't even hear my bike make a noise over it. Sure, I can just haul @ss and clear the whole thing, but it's a lot more fun to be smooth and precise on it.
Other parts of the trail need mentioning too. The log drop is fun and so is Jan's Rock or whatever it's called. I look forward to that whole section of trail, but I have to do my least favorite part not long before it. Yup, it's the climb with log steps in it. That just takes everything out of me man!
The whole single track getting to the X-Loop is a lot of fun and I love the whole thing. The downhill, as much as I like to go fast, just seems to not be so fun any more, and that final climb out kills me, like it seems to do to everyone else.

Shad during Monday's ride while climbing the logs: "This is supposed to be mountain biking, not logging!"

My favorite part of Lebanon would have to be the whole trail. I've only been able to ride it once this summer but I had a huge smile on my face the whole way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had only done the XX once before last Tuesday and that night we went around three times. Wow - what fun.
My favorite part was a rock garden (I think after the table top and the log ride after the table top) that you could just fly through cuz you were going so fast. There are so many different lines that you can pick through there. I must have gone through different each time. I think that shortly after the rock garden there's a climb with some rocks, that's fun too.
The rock garden right before Jan's rock is awesome cuz I helped with it - although it doesn't look as intimidating as when we were building it. And you can't really tell that one of the last rocks was as big as my MINI and we moved it from about 5 feet above the trail!
PS - good to see you again Scott! ;)
