SuperClydesdale

Jason Voelkel and I rode Milaca on Saturday AM. If you have been waiting to ride Milaca, NOW IS THE TIME! 13 miles of continuous singletrack does not suck.
The trail conditions were the best I have ever experienced, due mainly to the lack of precipitation in the past several weeks. There was NO standing water on the trail, and only minor muddiness in the Bog Monster section. The marsh crossing into and out of Bog Monster was quite overgrown, and the bridge on the way out was only partially installed, but Bog Monster was still quite enjoyable. (I love the 3 rockpiles, especially the curving "bermed", pile.)
Otherwise, the trail was dry and fast. Sky Hill kicked my Clydesdale-sized butt once again, but it was fun.
There are a few downed trees across the trail that need removal; we removed a bunch of obstructions but could not remove them all because we had neither a folding saw nor pruner. What trees we had to leave can quickly be removed with the rght tools, maybe 45 minutes total need to be spent doing to remainder of the obstruction removal.
I would love to organize a group ride up there while conditions are still good. I will be out of town this coming weekend, but if it stays dry for a while, well, I'll be back.
Regards
Mark
