I'm looking for one or more people to help on a very interesting trail project Friday afternoon, Aug 15. The short bridge over the nasty deep drainage about one mile west of the turning bridge has partially collapsed, and is very close to totally collapsing, because the west bank has eroded badly and is starting to collapse. One hard rain and the bridge might be down, with nothing but NASTY to get around it.

I plan on putting in a temporary prop from the stream bed to the bridge stringers to prevent a total collapse, and do a permanent repair later. Please contact me if you can make it down there to help on Friday afternoon. This is not a job one person can tackle alone, or I'd just go down there and do it.

Thanks,

Don Youngdahl

Glad you know about that! I rode Friday night and was concerned when I saw it. I was going to start a thread on that to tell you guys!

I rode the trail on Saturday, and agree that something needs to be done.

I'm available to help out Tuesday or Wednesday of this week after 6pm. Post here if that'll work.

The shoring is done, but you won't notice it unless you scramble down the bank for a look.:)

...how about one? You should be able to start off with enough elevation on either side to hit the lower edge of the opposite bank. Bring your own gear and get your zip on!

That, or my oft-requested more permanent, and rideable, bridge over 9 mile crick. Even after all the fantastic efforts by MORCers to keep the raft/steps going, I still despise interrupting a good ride to get wet and nasty (dang skeeters!).
