My guess on how people vote:
Age 21-34 = Tastes Great
Age 35- = Less Filling
;)

Give me a Mickey's, Guiness, Newcastle or Leine's and I'll be happy. John was right - I was happy with light beer through college because I could drink more. Now that I need to drink less, a full bodied beer is more to my taste.
Leine's is even giving away a Gary Fischer MB!

Depending on what mood I'm in...or what kind of cash I have, it's either one or the other. One one hand, you can't go wrong with a good beer (import of domestic) like Newcastle, Paulaner, or some of our fine micros. But on the other hand, sometimes I just gotta go for that great can of PBR, Colt 45, or maybe Black Label. Lately, I've been on a Blue Moon streak.

Leinenkugel’s Honey Weiss, I don't drink very much anymore so I go for taste.

Yeah, Honey Weiss or any brand of hefferweisen for summer.
For winter, gotta be Killians, Bass, Guiness Stout or any number of red/darker beers (I know Bass doesn't necessarily qualify there, but ... ).

Rumor has it that Fat Tire should be available in this neck of the woods in a year or so. I hope it's true.

Why bother if it doesn't taste great?
My personal choice...a local one.
Summit Pale Ale!

Looks like you all have nothing to do. But I vote for taste great. Bitburger beer. The germans can brew.

Guiness or Sam Adams... beyond that I'm not much of a beer drinker. Don't care for the stuff that looks like water and tastes like pi....
I'm more of a wine person actually... sorry - does that mean I no longer fit in?

Anybody try a Moose Drool? Good stuff!
The same brewer has another one called Scape Goat.

Moose Drool! Yummy. We always make sure to enjoy some of that when we take ski trips out to Bozeman, MT.
Yeah, John, wine is good, too. Really depends on what you're eating. A really good pasta dish with red sauce or a steak, you need Merlot or Chiante. A white sauce pasta or chicken or fish, you need something lighter (not much of a white wine fan, though).
I first fell in love with wine out in northern Espan~a back when I was there as an exchange student at 18. Some of the best wine in the world for about $1 a bottle! You can get some of that stuff here, too: Sangre de Toro. Yummy.

This would make Troy a happy boy!
Some good'n heavy local ones that I like: Lake Superior Oatmeal Stout and Summit Gr. Northern Porter.
You're not the only wine lover John. Gimme a big, bursting Zin and I'll also be a happy boy.

Oooh... another Zin lover. Ever been out to the Dry Creek/Russian River/Alexander Valleys in California? The wife and I brought back 3 cases of Zins during a long weekend out there in May. I think we've got at least a case left still.

Moose Drool is great! If you want it locally, Old Chicago has had it on tap for awhile. At least they were still selling it last May. Haven't been there all summer.

Actually if you want a great local brew check out Great Waters Brewery in downtown St. Paul. Their cask temperature (52 degrees) taps are awesome! Their Pot Hole Porter could be the finest tap I've ever had! I've drank at most of the local microbreweries and many out west and I think these guys are better than all I have been to. Anyway, cask temperature beer on tap is hard to come by and I think they make the best, so check out this local micropub!

Bah,
Just Brew your own.
I drink a lot of the lesser know micro brews and even did a on bike pub crawl saturday night at all the Minneapolis Brewpubs.
There will be one for the St. Paul ones in October.
Anyway, I just bottled a batch of Cherry Stout Sunday and will be starting a nice Wee Heavy ( 9% Alcohol Dark Scotch Ale) in a couple of weeks.
I also have a batch of Licorice Stout and Ginger Beer coming that I helped a friend of mine Brew.
Turns out to be about 0.75 a bottle and taste soo much better.
I do agree however that The best local place has to be Great Waters, since Sherlocks is no more :(
Come to a wednesday work session and you get a chance to have a few good brews!!!

Sherlock's closed? When was that? I was there just last winter. I still liked Great Waters better anyway, but sucks to here Sherlocks closed.
I would be interested in a St. Paul Pub crawl myself!

Sherlocks closed on Dec 30 2002.
I will make sure and post all the info on the St. Paul Bike Pub Crawl when we finalize everything.
Something to think about, singlespeeds, cruisers, custom choppers, and anything old, fat, and with only one gear are looked upon with respect if you show up on one.
If you don't, we'll only rag on you a little :P
