Plain and Simple: What's your favorite trail and why?  Two bananas for Lebanon.

I'll have to put Da Farm, as it is the one trail on the list I have not yet been able to clean on either bike.

All the others I have made no problem on both the 'dept and on the Single 'tude, so Da Farm is the last Challenge I have left in the local area.

Memorial and Holzinger are both right at the same level as Da Farm however.

Now granted I can have a whole lot of fun at all the others, but for me, a trail is missing something if I can ride it clean or without taking a break for food/water/air etc.

Of course I'm picking Lebanon - both as it is now, and thinking of how it will be in a year or two. I'm adding proximity to where I live in my vote too. Many of the other trails on the list have more miles which is something Lebanon is still lacking. (not to mention it is too busy) I'm also basing my vote on how it was built - by far this trail can handle more traffic than any other in the metro area. The gravel roads that remain at Lebanon still annoy me though... hopefully that will change.

Hillside is great, but I've only been there a few times. An hour away makes it just too far to be a favorite...

The farm is great, but again its about an hour away from me. I don't know it well enough to go alone yet either, but it may move up my list eventually. (probably just about the time it closes for good)

Battle Creek has potential. I don't like the bi-directional aspect, and it lacks singletrack that it really could have. It is nice because you can "build" your own ride, and it has more elevation than many of our local trails.

I'm not a fan of river bottoms even though people probably say thats crazy. I don't care for how it is always wet and overgrown. I don't like the raft (see other threads) and I don't care for the idiots out there who ride in packs thinking they own the trail. (see other thread about that group). I haven't even ridden it yet this year. The stingers out there top it all off for me... but, the trail has potential and will be improved some this fall. I hear riding the bottoms' on a singlespeed is great though, but I have yet to experience this.

I think Murphy has the most potential of taking my vote away from Lebanon... maybe in 4-5 years when they are open all year round' and have miles and miles of sweet singletrack. ;)

BTW: I might say Levis is the most fun place I've ever ridden though. Probably a tie with Landis down in KC.

Favorite trail I have ridden: Trout Lake, north of Grand Rapids in the Chippewa National Forest

Favorite trail I want to ride: Northern half of the Great Divide Mtn. Bike Route, from Rooseville, MT to Salida, CO.

Of the paltry local trails listed: Probably the River Bottoms

I'll have to agree with Hans here....My favorite trail isn't listed. Monarch Crest/Rainbow trail combo out of Salida CO is the absolute shiznit! Truely epic Colorado single track there folks.

Locally though, I voted the Farm. I woulda voted Leb, but at an hour to get to, its kinda far away. The Farm is only 25 minutes form my house. I think that technically, they're similar so on that level, they're the same for me. We'll see in a few years after Murphy get built up though. It sounds like it has the potentail to be the crown jewel for Minneapplpus riding.

My favorite trail to ride in the TC? Da Farm! I love it, since it always challenges me. I never leave there unsatisfied. So, that's what I chose

But, on a day to day basis, I really enjoy Lebabon. The Farm is 50 minutes away, so I rarely ride it. I can hop over to Lebabnon in 15 minutes from work.

Now, if were talking out of state then Flag-Bear-Dead in Crested Butte is my all time favorite! (http://www.alpineer.com/biking.cfm?rideID=7&pageid=33). Of course, I have to give big props to 401... by far the best scenery I've ever biked. (http://www.alpineer.com/biking.cfm?rideID=11&pageid=33)

I picked The Farm cuz it is always challenging, no matter how many times you ride it and it has a little bit of everything. Descents, climbs, switchbacks, log crossings, rock crossings, rabid raccoon cubs, teeters, and people mowing their yards. :)
