Trail hours??

So the trail "closes" at 10pm.......or is that just the lot?? Do they mean nobody (bikes and walkers) on the trail after 10 or just nowhere to park?? Anyone know offhand which it is. i sure would like some night riding there!!

My response from John Lundell was:

The park closes at 10pm - and I do know they bust people for night riding past that time.

Too bad though, I'd certainly like to bike whenever I wanted and would probably do more night riding in the summer if they didn't have that rule.

Rules are rules though - all it takes is one biker getting hurt back in there after hours and we'd all probably suffer. Dakota has been really good to us, so I'm happy to follow their rules even if it isn't as convenient as I would like.


So, I will stick to them rules... It seemed like a good idea anyway.

I find myself actually looking forward to it getting darker sooner. Weed out some of the riders and give me back the open trail at night.

If we have a late winter again we can start night riding at 6 PM... unlike last fall/early winter where we weren't sure if it was permissible to ride there after the official listed closing date for the trail.
