Does anyone know who is responsible for deciding the age categorizations for this year's races?
It seems odd that the sport's women is the only categorisation that doesn't have a 40+. Citizen class for both men and women do and sports men.
Today at Redwing a 48 yr old came in second overall and the first place overall winner was 36 yr old. Seems like they should each have gotten a first place medal.

You can see the categorizaton here:

I don't know really. Maybe it is Greg Blasko or Adam Schmidt. They ran the MNSCS the years previous and I think has something to do with making the races kinda the same this year - as far as age categories and prices.

I could be totally wrong though, *shrug*.

Looking at past MNSCS events, my guess is that it is due to the number of participants that have made up the age classifications. The groupings have usually been set so at least 3-4 riders would be in a given group. If you look at the MNSCS race standards, there are fewer and fewer groupings as you go up in level. Typically this happens because there are fewer riders at higher levels.

Hope this helps.
