View Full Version : Skip Work - Ride Leb!
After a few long days i the cube - I'm headed out to Lebanon for my first ride on the XX this afternoon.
I'm sure somebody's been out there - is the trail in decent shape after the deluge its gotten over the last few days?

I'm hoping to ride this afternoon... but, dang rain won't stay away. Looks like just a small shower though.
I hate rain... (at least today I do)
That does it, I'm leavin. Headin out to Leb right now. If its muddy I wont ride but I think it should be O.K. I threw some old FireXcs on my Blur and I need to see if I like em better than the Pythons or whatever it was that came with it. I'm gonna count to 100 and then leave

I decided yesterday that I would take a much needed vacation day today, and if time allowed, maybe shoot over to Battle Creek and do a couple of loops. When I got home, there was an envelope waiting for me, in it were some cool green socks!
It was the strangest thing....when I put them on this AM I was overcome with a sudden urge to go down to Lebanon.:crazy2: Whazzup wit dat??
Beautiful day, and a great trail (my first time down there).:etard: Did a couple of runs around the warm-up loop to kind of get the feel of the place, and then did two full runs of the intermediate loop. Great trail and very well marked. The first log kind of threw me for a loop, but the others were ok--it will be a (long) while untill I can to the X or the XX loops. There were only a handfull of cars in the lot, so I basicly had the whole trail to myself. I'm glad I made the trip:banana:

You were probably out there when I was this morning... very nice indeed. Conditions are great, the weather was even slightly cool.. and the bugs were nowhere to be found (of course I didn't bother to stop, so maybe they just couldn't keep up)
I used to have Leb all to myself when I played "sick" from work - these days there are always at least a few cars there...
But, everyone is enjoying themselves and that makes it worth sharing my trail... ;)
Get out n' ride today!

I heard a rumor that the armory might open it's gates for some trail building...I can see it now, instead the rocks in the trail like Leb we could have land mines or old mortar shells to ride around...wouldn't want to catch a pedal on those!
(patiently waiting for my very own green socks)

We definitely do! Actually any new trail would be nice - we have to start getting people to ride places other than Lebanon. Even the best built trails will wear out with this amount of heavy use... I can already see tons of roots I never saw last year.
We need more good trails in all areas of the metro, especially for those of you up north. I feel for ya... and I'll be up there helping build if we ever get approved to do so.
