Dale Gundberg, Jon Dahl and I just finished a meeting today with the city of Burnsville Parks and Recreation. We were given the go ahead to begin re-routing areas within Terrace Oaks that have erosion problems.

We have identified 11 areas that are priority and will be the focus of our work in the near future. We will not extend the trail unless it is necessary for ensuring that the final trail is a sustainable trail.

This trail will not be much different than what it is right now as far as length or level of difficulty. It will get its own trail steward, Jon Dahl, and MORC will do all routine work to make sure the trail stays in great shape.

The first task will be to flag the re-route areas and get approval from Parks and Rec. We will keep everyone posted on what is happening as the the work time approaches.

What? re-route worn areas? What worn areas? Just quit trying to pedal when riding in the ruts and you won't have an issue! :)

This is cool, hopefully I may be able to help out if the work days are open for me. Although lebanon is a better trail, I like terrace for evening and weekend rides because I'm still too pokey and I don't like being in everyones way.

have fun

Oops, we accidentally re-routed that 10 foot stretch into an additional 2 mile bowl-surfing fantasy land of singletrack... DOH!

hehe

Sounds great on the Terrace Oaks thing. I'd love to see them eventually let us extend the distance there so it could really be something that would offload traffic from places like Leb... but first things first!!!

Thanks for the update Tim!
