X loop squirrel posse

So has anyone else encountered the pack of squirrels that apparently likes to hang out in the middle of the trail on the expert loop just past the start of the XX loop?

I was riding at Lebanon over lunch today and on my way out about ~100 yards after passing the start of the XX loop I came around a corner and the squirrels started running every which way. I bet there were 10-15 of them, all trying to save their tails from a 26" Velociraptor imprint.

I even heard one of them saying something about, "Well, at least he's not a roadie...", as I went by. :D

Ha! Thats too funny, when I was out doing trail maintenance yesterday afternoon I ran into this pack while walking - but these were over on the Intermediate loop by the log drop (that I fixed.. or at least hope I fixed).

They scatered everywhere and scared the #)$(* out of me!

Beware of the squirrel gang! They may just run that group of wild turkeys out of the park (and the wolverine) if we're not careful...

There DO seem to be more squirrels out there than before!

I wonder if people have taken to feeding them gu packs and bits of Cliff/Power bars and now they know the trail is where the easy food is at?

It's because we keep making better trails.......what?.......do you think mountain bikers are the only XX trail riders?
