im a 20 yr. old rider from Detroit, MI; Warren Mi to be exact. i ride alot around the area and some other places in Michigan occasionaly. I will be in MINN. around AUG.3 to AUG. 9 and i'm looking to hook up a ride with a few people that could show me some killer trails. i love DH, stunts, anything that is is fun to ride, anything people that say," no one should ride that" or "don't try that" and i love jumping. I ride a Kona Scab, all stock. anyone that would like to help with this ride would be great. i dont really know yet where i'll be but i'll let you know very soon. near the mall of america i think. any rides around there would be great. let me know which trail would be best. im expeirenced so nothing is new here. i would love to check out the trail you guys got out here. anyone that can help me out please email me at hachetryda@aol.com

So what kinda trail would you prefer? If you love Poto (Potawatomi) you'll love the farm-it's just as technical but about 1/2 the difference (farm is about 7-8 miles versus Poto's 18 miles)...if you prefer something more along the lines of Island Lake or Brighton then you'll love Lebanon Hills (Lebanon with all loops is about equal to the back loop at Island Lake (not the blue loop..sorry can't remember what the other loop is called..is that the yellow loop?...can you tell I'm from Detroit?) but offering more technical stuff.

Would love to show you around.....

Sorry also gotta push MMBA...if you're not a member of the Michigan Mtn Bike Assoc I'd check out their web page at www.mmba.org it's an extremely active statewide organization that can always use additional support to further the MTN cause

Those pics for Mich. were pretty cool! Sounds like some good long trails out there. Where are those trails located? How far from the cities here? Would it be worth it to drive out there for them?

I have heard many people say that Michigan is much farther along in the mountain bike trail situation than many other states. Minnesota is just starting to get to where they were years ago.

We'll get there though! But I have heard nothing but GREAT things about Michigan trails. I'd love to go out there someday too.. maybe for the Iceman Cometh.. Hmm..

Poto would be a real blast...it's about 15 mins north of A2 (Ann Arbor to those Bager Folks)...Island Lake is about another 20 mins NW of that...there's a ton in the Metro Detroit Area.

Poto also has camping and boating as well...goto www.mmba.org for a trails listing

Yes very true...MMBA was where we are about 12 years ago....if anyone is interested I could very easily be talked into making the trip back home

Hey... it would be cool if you wrote up something in the out-of-state rides forum about these trails. You know, some description, directions, distance from the cities... pictures if you have them. They sound great.

if you are from Minn. it probably is worth it that much, thats a long drive. however if you are from the detroit area hell ya its worth it! those pics were from Birchfield. great ride. i rode with the trail maker. some downhill, lots of curves on the downhill and pently of stunts to get your fix on. also there is a great changing trail right along the river. i can get directions if you would like.

as for my trip to Minn. i will post more info as soon as i know more. i'm open to any trail that you guys like the best. i just gotta find out where im gonna be. thx for the repsones.
