REI is partnering with the Minnesota Off-Road Cyclists and Dakota County Parks to host a trail maintenance project on the mountain biking trails at Lebanon Hills Regional Park. Here is your chance to pitch in to keep our trail resources in great shape. The project will include a number of tasks to help reroute existing trails and build new trails in the park. REI will provide lunch and a trail volunteer T-shirt; you provide a much needed helping hand. To register or for more information contact Don Begalle at 952/884-4315 x203 or email dbegall@rei.com.

In the past this event has had a great showing of volunteers. Last year we placed the bridges in the warm-up (beginner) loop, and did some trimming on the Intermediate trail. REI provided lunch and t-shirts (one of my favorites - very classy)

I will post more information on this event soon, but I just wanted to get the word out to everyone about the event. I'd love to see all our regular trail volunteers show up and help out - the more experienced trail volunteers the better!

Oh, and this is actually a great event to bring your significant other along if they are willing... this will be lighter work than some of our other trail sessions. Of course bring your bike for a post-event ride!

Here is the super cool t-shirt design that will be on the t's given out this year at the REI trail work day (see below post for more info).

Don't forget to email Don Begalle if you can make it so he can count you in for a free lunch!

This is always a fun trail work day... usually one that brings people from all over. The work will be light, the people will be fun, and bring your bikes to ride after!

This event is coming up quickly. We spoke with Don at REI today and everything is shaping up to be a great time of trail building, snacking on REI lunches, t-shirts, discussions with fellow riders... and so much more. This event is always a blast each year, and we keep on getting more and more people involved it seems.

Last year I believe it rained about 3" the night before and we still had 50 people show up!

If you think you will come - even if it is just over 50% chance - please send Don and email at dbegall@rei.com to register. This is so he can count for lunches etc. If you don't show up, we usually do have people coming that are not registered (and thats ok too!) but at least he can get enough lunches planned for everyone.

We'll be doing "lighter" work during this event. Please come on out if you can!

Also, if you are a regular at Lebanon trail work sessions, we could use you out there to help out as well since you have been there and know how this all works.

Hope to see everyone out there!

I wanted to make one more plea to get people to come out to the REI event this Saturday. We don't often get the kind of support that REI has been providing MORC over the last year... if for no other reason, do it because you appreciate a local business giving support to the local mtb scene....

Besides, I believe Torey will be there - you don't want her to outwork you now, do you? ;)

Please... come on out, get a cool t-shirt, do some light work on the trails, go for a few group rides. Free lunch too - just remember to register... please.... thanks!

It's probably right in front of my monitor and I'm blind but what are the times for this event?
Thanks

Sorry - 9am start time. I hope there is a good turnout. Unfortunately I'm stuck in Chicago for a wedding today... :(

Got a report from Jan regarding the REI event and it sounds like we had around 35 show up. Not quite the 50 we had last year, but still a great turnout!! I hope everyone that went had a good time - I understand Jan got some pics and we'll see if we can post some of them.

It sounds like trails were trimmed, Larry Curley & Mo were re-claimed (i.e. CLOSED for good) - sounds like a lot of good things were accomplished.

Thank you SO MUCH to everyone that showed up!!! Your skipping a ride or other event to come help out means a lot to the biking community, MORC, REI, Dakota County etc.
