Still some cool stuff to be done in the XX loop. We were rained out on our first IMBA Advanced Trail Building School day, so we never got the berm built. There are also some more rocks that can be placed better and other minor tweaking. We have some new rock bars now - you wouldn't believe the rocks one can dig out with one of those things with very little effort.

This will most likely be the last trail work session before the opening of the XX loop, although we will likely continue working on new things in the loop even after it opens up.

This will be a fun trail work session - the opportunity to build some of the more unique features vs. the regular trail finishing we did last week.

We'll watch the weather as well - perhaps we'll be opening the trail that night or sometime this week. Stay tuned here for more info on that, but you may want to plan to bring your bikes just in case!

We're still on for tonight. Should be plenty dry back there to work and get the trail ready for another attempt at an opening.

We have a few things we need to do:

1. There is a corner that needs a berm created just after the McD tree.
2. There is one log that needs a ride-over option - perhaps we shave off the top of a few logs and place them there to make a nice ride up and over.
3. Rocks - there are lots of rocks still available to make bigger rock gardens. (this can wait)
4. Walk around and remove trail closed signs, clean up the entrance.
5. Signs. I don't have any, but we need some. I'll try make up a few temporary ones today.

This is all pretty fun stuff, would love to see people out there. Bring your bikes if you want... just in case... ;)

Hey, is Torey going to show up and outwork everyone again?

I know she certainly made me feel old carrying that heavy rock bar all the way out of the park without complaining or having to switch hands like the rest of us bums hehe...

In honor of all the wet and dreary weather, tonight is water bottle night - volunteers receive a Salsa water bottle and holder for their efforts...

We had another excellent turnout tonight - 12 people for trail work! We worked on a berm and a log ride tonight - both items that were on Dakota's list of suggested "fixes" for the trail... the berm may need a little more work, we'll see... looks a lot better now though, at least riders won't slip around that corner.

The weather isn't cooperating very well... rain almost every day. We'll see how things go tonight and the outlook for tomorrow. The trail was still damp, but certainly ready to ride if we have some decent weather coming up.

Sorry this is taking us longer than we thought - we just need to be sure we don't screw up and open the thing up just before it rains, then end up with more work to do... we'll find a day here. Maybe tomorrow night, maybe Thuresday... looks like the weekend might be ok too.

Thanks again to everone that showed up!!! You all did a great job, and it was really cool meeting those of you that were first time Lebanon trail workers this year... and of course it is always good to see those of you who have been there before as well.

We have some new MORC "Trail Care Crew" t-shirts on the way - so for those that don't have one, or are in need of a new one, we should have these available soon...

BTW: someone even had cookies out there for us when we returned to the parking lot after working.. that was pretty cool!
