Are there any ladies out there that are about 5'3"? If so, I am wondering what kind/size bike you have and how it fits you. I ride a small Cannondale Jekyll. So far this bike has been pretty good for me, because I have a short torso and it has a small cockpit. However, I am thinking of upgrading and looking for suggestions. Thanks!

My wife just started to ride and she's on the petite side too (5'0"), so finding a smaller framed bike was top of the priority list. We eventually purchased a Trek 6700 WSD for her. The frame and cockpit angles are setup specifically for women and it fits her really well. I know some other bike manufacturers have this type of line as well.

If you move into a nice high end style of bike you should be able to work with the bike shop to make some needed adjustments - shorter stem, different seat posts, etc.

Oooh. I was wondering about that Julianna. Might have to cruise up there. Thanks both for the input!

I'm afraid the Juliana up at Erik's is hanging in our garage now. Sheri, (my gf) wants to bring it in the bedroom and sleep with it.

Seriously, though, if I get a new bike it will probably be next Spring. After she rides it awhile, please tell me what she thinks of it. How tall is she and does it fit her really well? Tell her happy riding!!

Unforunately it was almost 9pm by the time we were leaving Erik's last night, so she didn't get the chance to ride it and had to fly out to Indianapolis early this morning. She is 5'3" and I did watch her posistion just rolling around on the street, it looks perfect for her. The tall riser bar is a bit much I think, she may have to swap for a flat bar. And we will have to take it back later to have the steerer cut down, but outside of that it seems to be a nice fit and she can't wait to take it out. I'll let you know how its going when I can't keep up with her anymore!
