I'm looking to upgrade. Has anyone used the Ti version of the Fi'zi:k Aliante on a mountain bike? I've heard it's super nice and super comfy, but I worry about durability since I ride a hardtail.

Otherwise, what are some other good, light, comfy saddles that can stand up to mountain biking? I ride light and rarely break stuff except when I crash.

thanks all

I have a Fi'zi:k (boy is that a pain to type) Nisene ti that I like. It came with my previous bike (Cannondale Jekyll) and I kept it when I sold the bike because I like it so much. It isn't the higher calibur of the Aliante, so I'm interested in what people think of that one as well (save about 80g) I like it much better than the rocket V stealth... but part of my anatomy (in the spring) misses my old heavy sarif jell seat.... (ahhh.. soft... )

Bontrager Race Lite is the only way to go. I'm still riding a Bontrager Ti saddle purchased in 1994. That one predates their acquisition by Trek. Bontrager's new stuff is just as good, I'm riding a Race Lite on my newest MTB. Plus they come in a choice of colors.

the old WTB SST's either in Ti or Cromo. reletively light, super comfy, and you can find the normal ones cheap now.

I hear this can be a nice saddle.. very comfy. (but it weights about as much as your bike I'm sure..)

Not quite, but probably close. I hate thick gel seats. They actually make me more numb.

Incidentally, wasn't that saddle cover used as a model for some Dali paintings?:D

I moved my crusty Selle Italia Flite from bike to bike for years and was heartbroken when I finally snapped off the nose. Then a couple months ago found one sitting on the bottom shelf in the parts case at Willy's in Madison, all dusty and forgotten. I wanted to throw a party. It's the Mr. T of saddles.
