This is our last 5pm trail work session. In May and until fall when we start losing light, we'll be meeting at 6pm.
Ok - so its elevated bridge building time! This is one trail work session you do not want to miss. What a great way to be able to tell people "I helped build this bridge" when you are riding them.
Besides, the more people we have the better chance we'll get that dang new loop open!
If we could just get a dozen people out there each trail building Tuesday, we'll be riding that dang section in May!!! Think of it!
We need your help... please, c'mon out and give us a hand.
Oh, and we're fun to hang out with too... it won't even seem like work! ;)
BTW: pictures will be taken!

I'll be there; it'll be my first trail work session though. Is there anything I should bring with me?

Hehe.. fire... naw. Just some gloves (and water) would be fine. We sometimes have enough bug spray, but you could bring some just in case although there should still be very few out there (at least for one more week anyway...)

Now if only trail work wouldn't get scheduled at the same time as Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Western Conference semi-finals.
Let's see... lug heavy rocks and bridges around in the woods or go watch the Wild whoop on the Canucks? :D
I'll try to be there next week.

Ok, about the only excuse I can think of to not show up for trail work is hockey, so you are excused.. hope to see you next week!
And for the rest of you, sorry there is no excuse - we'll see you there this evening hehe ;)
Go Wild!

Thanks for the hall pass, Boss.
I'll be thinking about you guys as I'm nursing my $5 beer at the game.

Of course actually BRINGING a trail boss to the game counts for at least 20 hours of trail work! Something to think about.. hehe
:p
Have fun at the game!!

Ok... so there were so many people that came and went tonight during trail work, I wasn't able to get all your names! If you were there, feel free to post a "hey, I helped!" reply... you deserve some thanks. If someone wants to even attempt to get me names, I'll post them.
A HUGE thank you goes out to all the guys that showed up! We had another super turnout tonight. Again, if this keeps up we'll be riding that new XX loop sometime in May... maybe even 2, maybe 3 more Tuesday trail work sessions, depending on the turnout we get. You guys all did an excellent job.. and besides that, I have really had a great time getting to know so many of you.
How cool was trail work tonight? Let the pictures do the talking. Check out the images in the photo gallery or on the Lebanon Hills Trail Review (http://www.morcmtb.org/trailreviews/metro/lebanon.shtml#Pictures).
Here is one to get you started...

What a great crew we had tonight. Really got a lot of work done on the trails. Just think if all of you did not show up we would still be out there trying to get Bob setting with both tracks on the ground. Thanks to everyone who helped tonight and especially those that helped with the righting of BOB

In all seriousness you guys should see how good Tim Wegner and Dale Gundberg are with the 2 dingo/bob machines. These guys can carve a trail with near perfect outslope/backslope with the end result of saving us all a ton of work!
They are built to take roll-overs, and the fact that only one has happened in all the many hours they have used them is incredible.

I wuz there! I got this cool little Swiss Army Knife to prove it, too!
I'll be there next week, for sure, especially seeing how close the trail is to being rideable. I wanna take one of those rake-looking tools and contour the trail after the dingo as fast as possible, since that seems to be what puts the finishing touches on it all. I really did find it interesting learning the "secret" to why the trails are rideable 6 hours after a rain. Interesting stuff.
Those bridges look kick ass, too. Can't wait to incorporate this loop into my typical Lebannon ride! =)
Trail work was a good time last night. Seeing those finished bridges was pretty rewarding. Can't wait to ride 'em! See ya next week!
