This is a culmination of a couple of post across the site, so if looks a little familar that's why. :)
Trails were worked on earlier this week in preparation for the season and the upcoming race. The initial front climb and the climb out of the back side still has some snow on it. Mt. Kato is expecting the snow to clear in the next week or so. The singletrack in the trees has been cleared and looks good from the winter weather.
Barring a long cold snap, the trails should be opening the weekend of the 25th. If a cold snap does set it the trails will open for the Mud Madness race and be evaluated from there.
The group rides at Mt. Kato will be on Tuesday nights, just like last year. Rides will begin at 5:00PM at the lodge and go from there. The lodge and shop are open from 8AM - 4PM M-F for season passes. Passes this year are $95 +tax ($101.18 total). I believe they are going to continue the dual usage at Mt. Kato and Afton. You can call Mt. Kato at 800-668-5286 for details.
