Just a quick update on the trails and status of the Mud Madness race at Mt. Kato.
Trails were worked on earlier this week in preparation for the season and the upcoming race. The initial front climb and the climb out of the back side still has some snow on it. Mt. Kato is expecting the snow to clear in the next week or so. The singletrack in the trees has been cleared and looks good from the winter weather.
Barring a long cold snap between now and the week of the race, the trails should be opening the weekend of the 25th. If a cold snap does set it the race will still go on, but the course will be run counter to the normal traffic flow - part of me thinks that would be great.
