Hi all!
First off, I think you have all put together a great site. After reading through your posts, it is apparent that you all are making mountain biking a thriving sport!
It has been many moons since I have been biking on a regular basis, love, wife and kids sorta put a crimp in my ability to get out and ride. Things have slowed down a bit and I am looking forward to getting back in the swing of things. What trails would you suggest where I can try to lose the gut, get my form back and not get in the way of good riders? Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Thanks!
Sean

I'd have to say that once things dry up, that the River Bottoms are going to be your best bet. Sure there are some hammers out there, but they can go around people.
The trail is great for getting back into shape. Going west from Lyndale, the trail goes about 7 miles and is fairly flat. Hell, it's really flat, with only one or two hills along the entire route. There's plenty of room to get your form back. Once you get some lungs, go east and you'll find some hills.
You could also try Lake Elmo Park Preserve out in Lake Elmo. There is nothing technical or challenging, but that might be just what you need. It's pretty country.
Rated in order of difficulty, I would say Lake Elmo, River Bottoms, Lebanon, Terrace Oaks, (Hillside and Memorial if you don't mind driving), Wirth, Battle Creek, The Farm and Brownie Lake. At least, for me.

Don,
not to call you crazy but I would have to rank Lebanon technically more difficult than Terrace, Battle creek and most of Wirth.
Aerobic wise I think you have it about right. Though hillside might be a little harder on the lungs

I agree with you, if you rank them according to technical difficulty.... but, if you are trying to get back in shape, then I'd go in the order I listed.
What do you think the most technical trail in the state is? I have the most trouble clearing Brownie.

Thanks for the info!! Now if the weather cooperates and things dry up I should be good to go. Or at least I will know where to go...;)
