Anyone here ride at night?
Just wanted to start the gear posting by mentioning how much I love my Niterider Storm HID helmet light. I'm a night riding addict now, and much of the thanks goes to this fine light. It gives off a nice white glow that shows much more of the trail than a normal "yellow" light.
I bought a Trail Rat 2 for my bike to compliment the Storm, but it doesn't work too well to have both the white and yellow lights.

Last year I used a Vista Light 5W Nightstick - it sucked. Not enough light, not enough battery life, and intermittent connection problems.
This year I got a Planet Bike, 15W light, on sale for $100 (normally $150) and I love it. It has a smart charger, so you can plug it in and leave it without damaging the battery. I have yet to run out of battery life. It has 3 settings for light intensity. The lowest is usually enough, but it's easy to switch to the high beam using the handle bar mounted button. This light is a very good value.

I agree with John, the Storm HID lights are the greatest! The 40W of power makes the whole trail glow. Plus the run time - over 4 hours - takes a worry off my mind - having a battery run out. Well worth the investment!!

I use both the Niterider HID's (Blowtorch and Storm) more than enough light on the trail with these two going.
I would love to be able to afford a nice Lupine setup though!!!
