OK, looking for some advice on bike trainers. Need to put in some saddle time in the comfort of my basement this winter.
Specifically, has anyone used one that they would recommend? Or, to the contrary, has anyone used one that they would avoid?
I also have a cyclops fluid, and I think it works pretty well, too. One thing you are going to want to do is to either put on an old tire or buy a cheap tire to use for the trainer. The thing eats rubber, and you won't want to use the tire for anything else. That is, unless you like squared off tires! Don't use your $50 conti's unless they are already junk.

Actually the best thing to do would be to use your road bike, if you have one. :)
Otherwise a smooth tire is almost a must. Without one you might just go deaf. Another word on these trainers - the fluid resistance ones are the ones to get. Quiet and smooth. Wind resistance is smooth but not quiet, Magnetic resistance is quiet but it's like riding cobbles for hours on end. (Bumpy)

Hey, just thought I would share some info about the CycleOps trainers on Ebay. For all of you who bought one from O2 Bikes, they are nto the same as you get when you got to a shop and buy it. They misled many manufacturers about their business. All ties with any manufacturer have now been cut off. They said that they were something they werent and sold all of thier products way below what it was supposed to be sold at. What you are actually getting is the european version. It is different than the US one. Im not positive one he exact differences though. Also you get no warranty. Even if O2 says you get one you don't, sorry.

In most cases, buying anything off the internet voids warranty, wether it's ebay or jensenusa. In the cases that aren't affected, usually warranty is implied through seller and not the manufacturer.
