I lived in eastern Iowa for four years and rode Sugar Bottom every week it was open. The trails there are fast. So fast. Unbelieveable. Nothing too crazy, and blast to ride.
If you are ever in the aera, I highly reccommend the ride: If the trail is open, because it is closed in wet conditions. See more from The Iowa Coalition Of Off-Road Riders (http://www.icorrmtb.org/).
Thanks for Reading

I lived in Cedar Rapids for about 4+ years and completely fell in love with Sugar Bottom. Leaving that area was a hard choice with the caliber of trails down there. Anyone from MN/WI/IA area could make a long weekend to Cedar Rapids for riding options in that area.

Rode there a few summers ago. SO well worth the drive down. It certiainly doesn't hurt that Iowa City is a fun place to go either. If you're thinking about heading that way, DO IT!
Jason, I didn't realize you're from Kato land...I'm down there daily(I manage Bagel Bros dntn location) for work and school, we should hook up for a ride!

Anyone who has ridden Sugar Bottom knows this is worth the drive. I'm wondering if anyone is up for a road trip Memorial weekend on a Saturday or Sunday - depending on the weather? Find a designated location to leave from cruise down for the day, get some good riding in, and get back that night. I'll be willing to bring my truck as a bike carrier - should be able to hold 6-8 bikes between the box and bike rack.
Contact me if anyone is interested. :p
