View Full Version : BC Trail Work 8/2 ??
Any Dirt Bosses want to lead a session? I will not be able to make it this Monday.
If anyone wants to do some trimming I could bring the brush saw with me to work on Monday and someone could pick it up or I could drop it off. Some parts of the overlook and overlook connector could use some work. I'm sure there's more de-berming that could be done in places as well.

Thanks for picking up the goods Paul!
My pleasure!
Yeah I'll take the session. I would like to get the trimmer and the chainsaw from you. Plan will be to touch up Dingo now that some of the tread is packing back in, plus trim and brush the connector to Old Point Douglas Rd. We have a tree down blocking the old driveway on the connector.
If we have a big enough crew I would also like to go take a look at what we can do about the erosion area on the downhill into Pine Climb. All of Shawn's hard work from a couple of years ago was eased by the rain and a some people who decided to ride when trail was muddy. We now have a deep one tire width groove down the center.

FYI: on the overlook trail, just a few corners from the actual overlook, there's a 6'-8" limb just barely hanging on to a tree. I had smacked it with my head (thank goodness for helmets) so I stopped to try and yank it down but it wouldn't come free. I tucked it back behind another branch so it's at least out of the way for other riders but it's not going to stay there for long.
Thanks for the "heads up". We'll try to get up there and take a look.

Thanks Tom!
Also on the pine downhill there is a tree fallen across the trail that has been built up with a few smaller branches so that it's kinda rideable. That could be taken out.
I could possibly drop the tools off on Sunday eve, when I get back from the cabin.
Sun evening works good for me.

Goals:

My shoulder is a little sore from a Buck Hill crash, so I think I'll take a week off from Rouge Ho operator. Hope to catch you guys next week.

Well Tom, looks like it will be the two of us. Since i am just leaving DT now, I am guessing I will be late & meet in the lower lot.
Indeed it was just Paul and I last night. We managed to trim the top half of Overlook and cleared the old driveway connector near the lift station of the tree and brush. It was VERY hot and humid last night didn't see a single rider out.

Nice job on the Overlook! it really made a big difference trimming that grass/weed back. Opens up the trail a lot. Thanks for your efforts out there!
