Im traveling to Levis for the first time this weekend on the way to Spring Green, and was looking for ideas on gearing. What are people using for gearing on their SS rigs?
\
29er setup, Im running a 32 - 20 right now.

I might end up riding my 1x9 575 instead.

Thoughts? Thanks..

Maybe you already know, but there is a WEMS racing taking place at Levis on Saturday 7-17.

As for what gear to use, 32-20 or 32-19 on the 29er would work fine.

+1 if you are a strong climber in a singlespeed.

Good medium gear.....not to slow on the flats, not too hard on the climbs, but certainly not easy.

I ran 33x21 there with no undue strain on my 29er. Taller gearing should be no issue for those that are actually fit (which I'm not).

Thanks for the suggestions all.

I ran the 32x20 and had a blast. 32x19 would have been nice in some areas, but IT was about perfect for me being clyde and running 2.55 tires with Gordos. Such a sweet trail system, im actually going back this weekend with a friend.

Unfortunately the rain tomorrow doesn't look too friendly.
