Hello,

I am planning on riding levi tomorrow 7/3. I have ridden there before but this time I am thinking about bringing the tent and setting up camp after my ride. Does anyone have any information on camping at levi? Is it open to tenting? Are there designated areas for camping? Specific parking areas ( I only know of the small parking lot with no buildings) Over night fees? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Levis has nice camping right at the trailhead. There is another trailhead on the east side of the park that has a nice shelter with bathrooms (sink and flush toilets) and camping. There are no designated spots, just a big open area with some trees on one side. I believe they charge $10 per person per night. There are fire rings, but no cooking grates. If you want a shower, head down to one of the campgrounds that are about 3 miles south that have pay showers.

Thanks Ted,

The trail head with the shelter, that must be the one I have seen in photos. When I was there last, I parked at a small lot with no shelters, just a few signs and a drop box for your daily fee. I did remember riding past another lot though, which could be seen from the trail, with shelters. So I should find the lot with the shelters then from the sounds of it. As for the 10/day fee, that is for the drop box right? There is no staff at Levi so its the honor system? Thanks again.

Yes, it is just a drop box at the other trailhead as well.

Go east on Hwy 95 past the trailhead you already know. Take the next left, Fisher Rd and the second trailhead is down that road on the left about a half mile. The local sheriff does visit, and check whether you've paid to camp.

If you go south on Fisher road about a mile, there was a guy selling good firewood for cheap. We bought $15 worth and that kept a big fire going all night. Big enough for 8 to sit around and keep warm on a 30 degree night.
