We have been offered a substantial donation by the Twin Cities Marathon if we can put 5 teams of two patrollers each on the course for their first half-marathon, on the morning of Sunday, July 4th. Mike (and Deb) Randall will be out of town, and I have that day off, so I will be coordinating NMBP involvement in this event. We would be on-site at 6:30 AM and done before noon.
From their website: "The race will start and finish on historic Main Street near Saint Anthony Main in North East Minneapolis. The course winds through North East Minneapolis and includes nearly three miles of scenic Saint Anthony Parkway. Deming Heights Park near mile seven is the backdrop for the most challenging portion of the course before a gentle downhill roll of more than five miles."
Please let me know as soon as possible if you would be available and interested. If we can get enough people from both patrols, we will split the donation between MMBP and Backcountry.
Ride safe,
Hans

I'm sorry but I will be out of town racing that day.
Unless it gets rained out, I'll be in Tofte for a 10k in the morning and riding Piedmont in the afternoon. Sorry, Hans.

Passed on from Dr, Granja:
Dear Minneapolis Marathon 2010 Medical Team Volunteers,
Before the 2010 Minneapolis Marathon fades too far into our memory
banks, I want to thank all of you for the time and energy you put into
the medical team this year. There is just no way we could have done
it without you. I've heard nothing but compliments about the team's
overall performance.
We all have busy lives - thank you for sharing your time with me and
the rest of the crew.
I had two simple goals - keep it safe and keep it fun. I know we met
the first one, I hope the second one was true as well.
Enjoy your summers,
Jorge Granja
2010 Minneapolis Marathon Medical Director
P.S. Pencil in June 5, 2011 - hope to see you next year!

Anyone have an extra patroler plate I can borrow? I moved a month ago and I am guessing it is still in a box somewhere.
