On my way to a wedding in Wisconsin this weekend aand was looking to stop by Levis on Friday. I was just wondering whether anyone could give me a location on the skills loop as that's part that I definately don't want to miss there.

Thanks!

The best way I know how to describe it is to start at the shelter and head on the trail to the right of the shelter (when looking at it from the parking lot). It is just up the hill and to the right. Maybe 100 yards away or less.

Ish is correct. Head right (north) from the trail center towards Lower Glen and Lucy's Loop will lead up the hill to your left about a hundred yards in.

Rode the trail yesterday and its 90% dry with a few dozen muddy sections in Select Cut and Snodgrass.

There should be road signs to get to the Trail Center and if not follow Hwy 95 and go east of the first parking lot off of this major road, turn North on Fischer Ave.

I was there Friday... trails open. Overcast and sprinking.
But it was nice it wasn't hot. Some of those climbs are a real workout.

Rode almost all the singletrack. 20 miles or so. Didn't do Goat and some
of the far away stuff.

Fell hard and face planted on a slick log crossing. Ouch. Didn't even have
time to take my hand off the bar. That was at mile 15, somewhere in
Yellow Jacket.

Cliffhanger and North Face totally rule, as do many of the fast downhill
sections. Lucy's Loop is insane... can't do everything in there.

The skills loop is easy to find.
Park at the Trail Center (second parking lot). Then go through
the wood fence right there, to the east(?). follow that trail and you will
see a sign for Lucy's Loop to the right. It's near the sign for Dump leading
west.

Here are a few pictures.

We were just there over this past weekend. LOVED IT.
Racked up 22 miles in 6 hours.
Hint on riding Goat Dance, ride it clock wise. Worth the climb for the tight downhill switch back on the other side. We did it cc last year and it was too much climbing for not much reward after wards.

I say, if you're already out there, do it both ways. That's how you know you've truly danced with The Goat. ;)

I don't know what you've heard, but I don't go both ways... :D

Did a night ride on Friday night and then did a long tour on Sat. Great camping and better trails to ride on. I'll be back and so will Timmmmay. And the new skills section is a nice addition.

Lucys Loop has a rock garden added recently- some of the Spec Ed kids from school helped a trail builder-teacher work on the project. They called it: "Planting rocks." :) We'll add another long skinny to the trail-just a low one, in the next week or two.
