I was just reading the post about Braham Mountain Bike Skills Park -- sounds very cool!

Are there other skills parks out there?

I am always looking for places to practice/learn new skills (without getting hurt). I (we) will often stop on a trail and work a section as a way to build skill set. But a busy trail is not always the best place to be practicing.

Anyway, any thoughts a great places to learn would be helpful - I live on the southside.

thanks

Ray's Indoor Mountain Bike Park in Ohio.

Probably more southside than you were looking for though.

They're building one in Milwaukee also. Way closer trip when that is done!

Three Rivers and MORC would ultimately like to build a skills part at Elm Creek in the coming years, but the mountain bike trail needs to be built first, funding needs to be found, planning done, and then the final build. Since the trail will be done in 2011, we are still 2-5 years out on a skills park.

Resurrecting this thread....Ray's MTB coming to Milwaukee next month. Anyone feeling me on a field trip come January?

Here are some videos from the Cleveland Ray's (considered an Epic Ride by IMBA)

+ 1, Carver Lake Park in Woodbury has plans for a smaller size skills park as well. Similar to what Ryan posted in his thread, 2-3 years out. First the trail and then the skills park.

Me and a buddy are going out to Ray's Milwaukee at some point during the week of March 20. Bringing the SS 29ers!
Ray's offers a great discount on two local hotels, and bike rentals are way cheap if you don't want to bring your own.

I would leave your bike at home and rent theirs, unless you plan on going into the foam pit (no rentals ). Your bike will be trashed, the ones they offer work great. I went in Jan and had a blast. I'm planning on going back about the same time as you guys PS dress in street clothes unless you want to look like a dork in a riding kit;)

I just want to get the word out there that as I move forward with f-bom products (http://www.f-bomproducts.com/) part of my business model (plan) is going to be getting investments, searching for, finding, and opening an indoor bike/skate park at some point. I am not sure on the timeline for this, we'll see how things go. But it IS part of my plan and would likely be where I run my business out of too. I will keep you all updated. It's important to note that part of my business model is to support those who support us. One way of doing that is by making all my products in the U.S. (not overseas!) and while supporting local manufacturing, provide places for people to shred too! I know.....sounds crazy! We'll see how it goes........:)
