First official session of the season!

Meet at the Rec Center by 5:30.

Then we'll head over to the overlook trail and do some fine tuning in a few trouble spots.

New trail workers are welcome. All you need to bring is decent shoes/clothing to work in, water, and gloves. We will provide any tools needed.

See ya Monday!

How late does this go? I might swing out for a bit before I go climbing.

On another note, sitting at my office looking out the window it looks like they are burning stuff again today.

They are. I can smell it.

Monday is the wife's birthday so if I want to continue riding my bike in the future I should probably skip this one.

The trail appears to have made some "friends". I'm sure most of you have seen the fruits of someone's labor on the trail, but someone has taken it upon themselves to wreck a number of the obstacles. I rode the trail by the overlook, over to the switchbacks, down the valley, up the pavement and then back to the overlook and I noticed a number of items that had bee moved, usually into the trail.

I figured I would give you a heads-up in case you hadn't seen the damage. It's not significant, but still annoying.

So are all the damage/changes on the overlook trail? Thanks for the heads-up James. We'll have a look.

No - sorry, I should have clarified... ;-)

There may have been other stuff which had been messed with, but... I started noticing things at the top of the switchbacks (when I started to realize this wasn't coincidence that stuff was out of place) and then I pretty much noticed stuff moved around up there down the valley and then on the trail going back from the paved trail to the overlook trail.

The "damage" appears to be just to cause annoyance... I.e. rolling logs out of place, leaving branches and such across the trail.

Fortunately, they didn't mess with anything over by "the wall" on the overlook trail.

Its supposed to rain tonight and Saturday. If rain let's up Saturday afternoon I will run out and check things.

A more specific location would help. I am guessing its the Luge (tight downhill switchbacks) or Big Wezzy (the prarie switchback climb).

We noticed minor things during the Wednesday night group ride. These are easy fixes, and actually give us a chance to enhance the obstacles. So really, the perps are making our jobs easier, as we don't have to dig to remove them.

Oh yeah; I will be present on Monday.

If that is the case I will skip heading out there till Monday.

Definitely a great night. We fixed up a couple of bad spots on the overlook trail that were beginning to crumble away. Dirt was in perfect shape for working tonight. A finely tuned crew makes quick work of things when in those conditions. Nice work guys!
